Elmer is a Doctor of Medicine with a Masters degree in Hospital Administration. He currently works as a Consultant in Pathology in various Medical Centers in Metro Manila and is also a Hospital Director. He is likewise a Professor in Pathology in one the top universities of the Philippines. He has been involved in various aspects of animal husbandry and exhibiting since the 1970's. His early involvement with dogs led to an interest in moving from family pets to the world of the purebred dog sport. Over the years he bred and exhibited a number of breeds including Pekingese, Chow Chows, Pomeranians, Boston Terriers, Basset Hounds, Dobermann, Boxers, Miniature Pinschers but his prime area of activity is with Pugs. From a very small kennel, over 30 Champions has already emerged, including a number of Best in Show and Specialty winners. Some of these Champions hold championship titles in many countries including Thailand, India and the United States of America. Stock from his kennel has helped establish a number of other kennels around Asia. He has served in various committees of the Philippine Canine Club, Inc. including its Judges' Licensing and Development Committee and is a favorite speakerlecturer in various judging, stewarding and breed seminars. He was the founding President of the Pug Dog Club of Philippines, Inc. and was a past President of the Imperial Pekingese Club of the Philippines, Inc. He is a member of the Pug Dog Club of America, Inc. Elmer began judging at the championship level in the early 1990's and is now the youngest all-breed judge of the Philippines. He has appeared frequently on judging panels for Specialty and All Breed shows not only in the Philippines but around Asia, the different states of Australia and the United States of America.
