Johan Becerra is a veterinarian and owner of BECLOVE KENNELS. He is licensed by the Canine Federation of Venezuela (FCI member) to judge all breeds. He has judged in numerous countries including Venezuela, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Spain, Guatemala, Canada, Columbia, Costa Rica, Puerto Rica, and USA. He began by breeding Great Danes in 1980. By 1986 he acquired his first Neapolitan Mastiff and met with much success. At the same time he was working as a handler for several breeds including Basset Hounds. His passion for this breed originated during this time. After finishing several champions for other kennels, he began breeding and exhibiting Basset Hounds under the Beclove name. In 1992 he had his first Basset litter and has continued since then to breed and show these dogs. Beclove Kennel has produced many champions in several countries with over 70 Bests in Show, Specialty Bests In Show and several World and International Champions. In 2004, one of Dr. Becerra's dogs won Best of Breed at the Basset Hound Club of America National Specialty. Currently he works as Marketing Manager for Gerber, and lives in Puerto Rico with his family and dogs.
