Frank has been involved from an early age with various breeds of dogs. Namely - Border Collies, Cocker Spaniels, Smooth and Wire coated Fox Terriers, German Shepherds, Miniature Long coated and wire coated Dachshunds and Basset Hounds. Prior to 1967 he was involved in obedience and the showing of German Shepherds, then in 1967 he and wife Brenda adopted the kennel prefix Questor and specialised in Basset Hounds. Imported stock from England and Australia produced many New Zealand and Australian Champions - AUNZ CH. Questor's M'Lord Ajax and AUNZ CH. Questor's M'Lady Arlette were two prominent names on Basset Hound pedigrees. Two years running a Questor Basset took out the top award for Best Puppy in Show at the N.Z. National Dog Show, and there have been many Groups awarded to Questor Bassets at these supreme shows. Frank is licensed to judge All Breeds and has judged throughout New Zealand, the Australian States of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory, and Western Australia, having twice judged at the Perth Royal. He has also judged in the Philippines, and the Canadian States of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. Frank and his wife Brenda are both Life Members of the Hutt Valley Kennel Centre and served on that clubs committee for many years holding positions as Vice President and Secretary respectively. He was on the foundation committee of the Basset Hound Club Wellington Branch and was its chairman for many years. Frank and Brenda are both Life members and Patrons of the New Zealand Basset Hound Club. Frank's interest in the dog world has also extended to stewarding at All Breed Shows and the New Zealand National Dog Show, he is also an active member and mentor of the Wellington Branch N. Z. Judges Association.
