All Breeds
Rafael was born in 1949 in Zaragoza, and spent his childhood among Pyrenean Mastiffs in his family's farm near the Pyrenees, in Aragon (Spain). He has been a breeder of Pyrenean Mastiffs since 1974 under the kennel name La Tajadera del Tío Roy, having won more than 170 National and International Championships, as well as six European Winners and six World Winners. That is a World Record among all kennels dedicated to Spanish breeds. Their dogs have been used as foundation stock to start breeding Pyrenean Mastiffs in several countries: France, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Belgium, Holland, United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Argentina, Brazil, Perú, Mexico, Canada and the USA. Rafael was the Founder, in 1977, of the Spanish Pyrenean Mastiff Club (CMPE). General Secretary until 1986 and President since that date until today. An author or co-author of seven books and several articles, in Spanish and English, mainly about Molosser breeds, but also about Sighthounds and Pastoral dogs. He is the only Spanish Specialist judge for all Molosser breeds by the Spanish Molosser Club and the Spanish Kennel Club. Judging International All-breeds Shows and also Specialty Molosser Shows and Specialties in International Shows at Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Monaco, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, Azores Islands, Austria, Ireland, Slovenia, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Czek Republic, Romania, Hungary, Holland, Belgium, Russia, Israel, USA, Canada, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Chile, Indonesia, Australia, South Africa and Spain. I have never judged in UK (though I have been invited twice to judge CC Shows for both Bullmastiff and Pyrenean Mountain Dog breeds) for a question of principles, because of personal disagreement with KC questionary system comparing with FCI countries British judges acceptance. Judge of yearly Special National Club Shows for most of the Molosser breeds in several countries at the five continents; All breeds FCI International judge since 2004; Member of the Board of Judges of the Spanish Kennel Club; judging in eight World FCI Shows and six European FCI Shows until the present, including Group finals at Barcelona's European Winner Show 2004, Helsinki's European Winner Show 2006 and Zagreb's European Winner Show 2007; Chairman of the Aragon Kennel Club since 1990.
