Bernd's profession is police servant and nowadays he works in the sector of criminal police and more specifically in Internet criminality issues. In 1978 he became a member of the SV and since then has been occupied with the training of German Shepherd Dogs. He achieved the Golden Award for Police Dog Handlers. Some years later he had his first litter, breeding a female named "Welle vom Fockbeker See". Since then he has bred 1-2 litters per year. He regularly shows his dogs in the German Shepherd National Conformation Show with success. For 5 years he was teacher for dog helpers in dog working trials in the Landesgruppe Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and at 1995 he judged the working trials in the German Shepherd National Conformation Show in Hamburg. In 2004 he also became a judge for conformation shows. Together with his wife they train their dogs in the larger part themselves. Both of their children are already successful as dog handles in breed shows.
