Darren commenced showing English Setters in 1976 and continues to do so to this day. In partnership with Bev Watt they proudly hold Best In Show and breed specialty records in this breed, including breedingowning winners of 5 Royal Show Best In Shows with 5 different dogs. They currently have the #1, #2 & #3 record holders for the number of Best In Shows won in the breed. Darren has also successfully shown Gordon and Irish Setters. He is currently a Management Committee member of Dogs Victoria and Vice President Melbourne Dog Club. Their English Setters were #1 showdog All Breeds in Australia in 2002, Gordon Setters to Best In Show level. In 1988 Darren gained approval to judge Gundogs and over the ensuing years gained licences to judge All breeds. This has afforded him the opportunity to judge throughout Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Finland. Darren is a board member of Dogs Victoria and Vice President of the Melbourne Dog Club. He works for a large multinational company and alternates his working commitments, dog showing, breeding and judging so that he can maximise his time to enjoy this wonderful hobby.
