Paulhas been involved with golden retrievers for approximately 40 years, his first being a young bitch rescued from the Toowoomba dogs home. He began showing in Tasmania in 1977 when they purchased their first registered girl. This was a steep learning curve but Paul got the bug and decided to add a second, dog this time and then set about the religious weekend trek to every show in the State. He also took up obedience training and trialing, eventually gaining his CDX title, Aust Ch Pascale Sion Aur CDX. Paul has bred goldens under the Tweedwater prefix with his foundation bitch being Aust Ch Chantesuta Pippa who produced some outstanding puppies, with one of particular note being Aust Ch. Tweedwater Brengwain the foundation bitch of Beaucroft kennels in Victoria. He gained his gundog license in the early 90'sand currently holds ANKC championship licenses for groups 3, 4, and 5. Paul's judging experience includes the Queensland Golden Retriever Club Specialty Show in 2000, Auckland New Zealand Golden Retriever Specialty 1996, The South Australian Setter Club Specialty and The Northern NSW Gundog Club Specialty, and the NSW Golden Retriever Club. He has also judged extensively at All breeds shows in Tasmania, Victoria, South Australia and NSW, and New Zealand. Marrying Patricia in 2000 brought together their two small kennels Golden retrievers (Tweedwater) and English setters (Carlyra). Paul and Patricia have also owned and campaigned Salukis and PBGVs.
