  Shikarah's

Javier started with Miniature Poodles in 1978 and has since bred and shown Afghan Hounds, Poodles (Mini & Standard), Saluki and Whippets. He has judged at most of the important European International, shows including Winners Shows and World Shows and many Club Specialties. Javier also judged at the World Championship Intergroom held in New York USA. He was acting President for the Spanish Yorkshire Terrier Club for over 18 years, and has bred many champions in this breed. He retired from that post in 2006. He was also Vice-President of their national Poodle Club for many years and was acting President for 3 years. As well as being licensed to judge FCI Groups 9 & 10, Javier also awards Green Stars in Ireland and CC's in UK. Javier and his partner David Allen-Gibson (also an FCI judge) have bred andor owned more than 200 champions in several countries with over 100 BIS awards and too many Group 1st's to mention. They have had the great honour to have bred and owned some of Spain's top winning exhibits, having been the only kennel ever to have won BIS & RU BIS at the same Madrid International show, also another Runner Up, and having won BIS twice at the Lisbon International with their Afghan Hound and their Shih-Tzu. They have also won BIS at International, National, and Club Specialty level with all the breeds they have ever bred, this in itself is a great accomplishment. Their Black Mini Poodle CH. Night Gambler of Shikarah's is still to this day the Top winning Poodle ever with 17 BIS awards to his credit and their Shih-Tzu CH. Aspen Asian Dandylion is still unbeaten to this day as Spain's all time BIS winner in the breed with 14 BIS wins. Javier is still active as a breeder of Salukis, Poodles and Whippets, although he does not breed Afghan Hounds now due to lack of time.
