Ph: +64-3-312 6649   Email: Click here
Beth has been involved in the Dog World since childhood when her family purchased a gold Cocker Spaniel as a family pet. From that early start her "Corsair" Kennels has enjoyed considerable success including titling in excess of 100 champions, plus 11 Grand Champions - 6 Cocker Spaniels (including NZ's only 5 Grand Champion Cockers), 2 American Cocker Spaniels (including NZ's first Gr Ch American Cocker) and 3 Bichon Frisé. Homebred and imported Cockers exhibited by Corsair have dominated the New Zealand show rings since the seventies, some of which have become respected icons in the breed. Beth has had a long and extensive involvement in club administration and has been Secretary of North Canterbury Kennel Assn since 1991. The 2000 Annual Conference of Delegates saw her nominated to the NZKC Executive Council, a position which she enjoyed and was privileged to hold on behalf of the membership, retiring in August 2005 to spend more time with the dogs, travelling and exhibiting. Judging has been a challenging and rewarding feature to Beth's involvement in the dog world, commencing in 1978 - that's if you don't count the hours of "make believe" after school in the backyard - and culminating in gaining her All-breeds licence in 2002. Appointments include extensive judging throughout New Zealand and Australia (including Terriers, Toys, Hounds and Working at the 2002 Hobart Royal Show) and, with the respect of her peers, numerous Cocker Specialties, which is an enormous honour to be invited to judge), plus New Caledonia, Singapore, The Philippines, and more recently Thailand and Norway.

She grew up with Airedale’s and Cocker Spaniels. Moving onto English Setters, her parents imported dogs from the Iroquois Kennel of Lesley Allen Smith (UK). After getting married, and moving to Amanzimtoti in Kwazulu Natal, she acquired her first Siberian Husky and has had that breed for the last 18 years. She registered the Kennel Name Sibra with the Kennel Union of Southern Africa. Her first homebred litter of Siberians produced 4 Champions.
After visiting America the first time, she fell in love with the Japanese Shiba Inu and is now the top breeder of Shiba’s in South Africa. She has combined lines from New Zealand, Australia, Holland and England, while the breed is small in number in South Africa the quality shines through.
Lois's first judging appointment was in 1976 and after moving to South Africa, she worked her way through the KUSA’s Breed Judges Qualifying Scheme and was recently approved to judge all breeds at championship show level. She has judged in South Africa and Zimbabwe. She judged Utility and Working Breeds in America in November 2006 at the Tennessee Valley Championship Show.
She also has a passion for Junior Handling having had two children take part, she and her daughter went to Crufts, and the St Patrick Shows in Ireland, enjoying every minute, marvelling, as so many do, at the quantities and quality of dogs. They also made many friends on these trips.

Anita and her husband Sid moved to Australia from UK in 1970. Anita bought her first pedigreed Chihuahua in 1973, & began to show & breed in 1974. She had reasonable success in those early years, Aust. CH. Mordosa White Gold became her first champion. Along the way she became the proud owner of a number of Toy breeds, English Toy Terriers, Japanese Chin (Imp NZ), Pugs,& Chinese Cresteds, finding success with them all.
As a kennel, she was happy to help others to reach success too. In more recent times she also had input to the registration of Tenterfield Terriers, having owned them (as Mini Fox Terriers) prior to recognition, both in UK & Australia. Along side this she took up judging, and is now qualified to judge Toys & Terriers. She has judged in all states of Australia, and fulfilled six appointments in the UK since 1991, the highlight being an appointment to judge the UK Chinese Crested Specialty in April 2005, (entry of 113) also holding the breed record entry in Australia of 94 Cresteds. Today Anita has Pugs & Chihuahuas.  She has been involved in administration with a number of Clubs, holding positions as Secretary, Vice/President, Editor, & general Dogsbody. A past member of the SACA Education & Promotions Committee, she is also a long time lecturer for Trainee Judges. Currently she is Secretary/Treasurer (5 yrs) of the National Chihuahua Council (Aust) and a trainee judge for Groups 4 (Hounds) and 7 (Non Sporting) .
