SABELLA, Mr. Frank

AKC Terriers, Hounds, Toys, Non-Sporting

Mr. Sabella began in dogs with a Standard Poodle in 1953 and by 1955 had finished his first champion and group winner. By the early 1960s this native New Yorker was one of the most sought-after professional handlers of his time, known especially for his flair with Poodles and other coated breeds. His handling career culminated in 1973, when he guided Standard Poodle Ch. Acadia Command Performance to a Westminster Best in Show. Mr. Sabella’s grace and showmanship in the ring can no doubt be attributed to his training as a professional dancer. He was a professional ballet dancer and worked in clubs in as a dancer in New York and Paris, before returning to the U.S. to become a professional handler in 1955. He is one of seven people to have both handled a Best In Show winner (1973) and judged Best In Show (1990) at Westminster.
He is approved to judge all Terriers, Hounds, Toys, and Non-Sporting breeds, and several breeds from the remaining groups. His assignments have taken him around the world. He was Best in Show judge at the 2003 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship and at the 1990 Westminster show.
Among the books authored by Mr. Sabella is a highly influential dog-handling manual. His many awards include Kennel Review’s Male Handler of the Year and Gaines FIDO Dog Man of the Year. For several years he owned and operated one of Los Angeles’s most prestigious florist establishments.

FCI All Breeds

An started breeding German Shepherd Dog in the 1970s. He also bred German Pointing Dog, Boxer, Poodle, Maltese, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Bull Dog, and Shetland Sheepdogs.
He has judged at a number of shows overseas, including the Philippines, China, the FCI Asian International Dog Show held in Tokyo, and Indonesia. An is licensed as an FCI All-Breed Judge, AKU All-Breed Judge and KKF All-Breed Judge

SAEVICH, Mr. Carlos

FCI All Breeds

When his sister returned to Buenos Aires from USA she brought two Bedlington Terriers with her. They were just her pets and they never thought of showing them until a Committee Member of the Canine Society saw them walking them and convinced them to start showing them in the Argentine Terrier Club Championship Show. That was in 1963 and since then they never stopped being involved in the dog scene. In 1964 they had the first litter and kept two bitches, one of them become the first Argentine Champion. In 1970 Carlos started with English Cocker Spaniels and bred few champions at a time when the quality of the Cockers in Argentina was very high. He also owned Ch Lochranza Strolloway who went Res BIS at Crufts. When moving to England in 1978 he decided to start with Shih Tzu's and imported one from Sweden. By the middle of the 80´s he started to judge abroad a lot so stopped breeding, but in the late 90's he realized how much he was missing it. By that time he only had a pet Pug and an old Shih Tzu so after a lot of consideration he started with Wire-haired Miniature Dachshunds and now he's also back in Shih Tzu's. 
His first judging appointment was in Open Show for Terrier breeds in 1969 and in 1970 he judged Terriers in the biggest show in Buenos Aires and by 1974 he was approved by the FCA to judge all breeds. He has judged in most of the European countries, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Kenya, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Israel. The highlights of his judging career has been judging at the World Dog Shows in Bern and Porto, European Winner Show in Copenhagen, The Stockholm Winter Show, the Finnish Winner Show and Crufts in 2004 were he had the record entry ever in Bedlingtons -112 dogs!

SALDANA, Señor Ricardo F. 

FCI All Breeds

Born in Mexico City, Ricardo Saldaña Solórzano grew in a family of dog lovers, and started participating in dog shows as an owner-handler at 11 years of age. Two years later he became a ring steward for the Federacion Canofila Mexicana, an activity he performed for eight years. He has owned dogs of various breeds including American and English Cocker Spaniel, Fox Terrier, Poodles Toy, Standard Xoloitzcuintle and Labrador Retrievers. He has bred and shown Pugs, his main breed, since 1980 with many being top Best In Show winners. 
In 1986 he was credited as a judge with national and international licenses to judge all breeds by the Federacion Canofila Mexicana and FCI. In 1990 he was approved by the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club as an All Breeds judge, countries where he judges every year. He has judged for many of the most noted clubs in North America, such as Santa Barbara Kennel Club, Beverly Hill Kennel Club, Alberta Kennel Club and Lower Mainland Kennel Club, among others. He has judged in World Shows, European, Asian and Sudamérica Championship, and Royal Shows in Australia. He participated actively in the 1978 and 1984 World Shows celebrated in Mexico City. He was a Delegate for the Cocker Spaniel Club of Mexico in 1979. Since 1982 he has been a member of the Board of the Federacion Canofila Mexicana A.C. Ricardo was President and Show Chairman of the Club Canófilo of Michoacán for 15 years. 
Has represented Mexico in Germany, Switzerland, Argentina and Belgium. Since 1993 he has been President of the School of Judges of the FCM. He has participated in seminars and conferences to prepare new judges. Over the years Ricardo has judged in more than 30 countries and has judged BIS at many of the most important exhibitions of the world, such as the Royal Melbourne Show 1995, the biggest exhibition in the South Hemisphere. He has also judged diverse national specialized exhibitions of breeds in their country and abroad. He has judged Specialty Breed Shows in Finland, Argentina, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico.  
A professional journalist, Ricardo was the producer of the commemorative TV video for the 50th Anniversary of the Federacion Canofila Mexicana in 1990. He writes for two Mexican Dog Shows Magazines and is also a specialist in Institutional Marketing. Recently, a specialized magazine selected Ricardo as the Judge of the Year.

SALTAU, Donna

ANKC Toy, Working & Non-Sporting Groups

Donna has been breeding and showing Shetland Sheepdogs for more than 30 years, with 7 home bred champions and 3 other champions bred by others. She has also obedience titled several Shelties over the years, winning several High Score In Trial when just 10 & 14 years old.
Donna placed highly in Junior Handlers in the 80’s and handled many dogs for people and titling German Shepherds and Collie Rough for some happy owners.
Her greatest achievements have been Best In Show All Breeds with CH. Shelbronze Jack Ohearts, two Specialty CC’s going on to Runner-Up In Show under UK specialist judges, and judging her breed at specialties in Europe. She also owned and shown Basenji’s winning at specialist level with them.
Donna has been judging since 1997 and was granted her Group 5 license in 1999. She also has her championship license for the Toy group and the Non-sporting group. She has judged Group 5 breeds in Germany, Finland, New Zealand and in all states of Australia.

SALVI, Mr. Rajendra M

FCI All Breeds

Mr. Salvi started his show career in Western India about 28 years back and has been a well-known exhibitor in both Breeds and Obedience Shows. He has been breeding and exhibiting Doberman's, Whippets, Great German Spitz, Pugs, Dachshund (Std) Smooth, Salukis and Golden Retrievers. He owns Salstar’s Kennels which house top quality dogs, which have been winning charms to hold his head high in this field for almost three decades.
Mr. Salvi is a Post Graduate in Organic Chemistry from Bombay University and has done management courses. He has worked in managerial capacity in Chemical and Metallurgical Industries. He is the Vice President of the recently revived Gujarat Kennel Club in Western India.

SANCHES DELERUE, Mr. Pedro

Pedro Sanches Delerue, University Degree in Business & Management, started showing dogs at 6 years of age. In 1978 he started his own affix "Quinta D`ABroeira", breeding Old English Sheepdogs, Teckels, Cão da Serra D`Aires and now English Bulldogs. This is the top record title breeder in Portugal, and maybe in the world, with more than 60 Champions and 35 titles of European or World Champions on 4 different breeds. His dogs have won more than 300 groups and 50 BIS, top dogs all breeds in puppy, junior and adults. Also as a groomer, he is the winner of the title of "Golden Scissor". He's the President of the Teckel Club of Portugal, the Clube Português do Cao da Serra de Aires and Bulldog Club of Portugal, and for 12 years member of the fiscal committee of the Portuguese Kennel Club. Writer of the first and only book of the "Serra de Aires" and the technical responsible for the new standard of the breed, approved in 2004, also writer of many articles in many different magazines in many countries. International judge since 1990, he has had the pleasure and honor of judging in most of the top shows in the world.

Javier has been a F.C.I. Judge since 1975. All-Rounder and Specialist in Schnauzers, Terriers, Akita Inu and French Bulldogs. He was the first foreign Spanish speaking judge to judge in the United States at the beginning of eighties, and the first Spanish judge to award CC's at Cruft's Dog Show.
He has judged in Spain, Great Britain, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Portugal, France, Monaco, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Poland, Holland, Belgium, Italy, San Marino, Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Serbia-Montenegro, Israel, Marocco, South Africa, USA, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Javier introduced the Giant Schnauzer to Spain in the seventies, and has been in the breed of both colours, Black and Salt & Pepper with his kennel name "Barba Negra", producing many World Champions, European Champions, International Champions, Winners Amsterdam, Jahressieger and Bundessieger in Germany, etc.
Over the last few years he has been breeding Jack Russel Terriers with his original stock imported from Australia, and French Bulldogs under the prefix name "Bocagüay". He is also very involved in Teckels and owns several specimens.
He was Founder and first President of the "Club Español de Terriers" for 15 years; Founder and first President of the "Club Español del Schnauzer" for 10 years; Founder and President of the "Club Español de Amigos del Bulldog Francés" for 6 years; Editor of the magazine "Doggy People" in the seventies, the first one published in Spanish about the pure breed dogs and shows; Vice president of the Spanish Kennel Club in the eighties; Delegate in Spain of the ATIBOX many years before the Boxer Club of Spain was made, Delegate in Spain of the Japan Kennel Club for the Breed Akita Inu, Usual speaker at conferences in international cultural circuits; Author of several books about dogs like The Great Book of all Terriers, The New Book of the Giant Schnauzer, The New Book of the Miniature Schnauzer, The Art of Judging Dogs and hundreds of articles in magazines of different countries.
Javier has the honor of being awarded the Gold badge of the Spanish Kennel Club, the Gold badge of the Club Español del Schnauzer, the Gold badge of the Pinscher-Schnauzer Club of Germany, and is an Honorary Life President of the Club Español de Terriers, an Honorary Life President of the Club Español de Amigos del Bulldog Francés, an Honorary Judge of the Japan Kennel Club, and holds the title of Cinologist of the High School of Animals Science and Arts of the Veterinaries Association of Spain.

SANDOR, Mr. Szabo

An Engineer, Sandor, since his childhood days, an enthusiastic dog owner and he started the career as a dog show judge in his youth. He is a successful breeder of Collie Rough and Bearded Collie, and also of Fox Terrier. His kennel, Fenyoligeti, has produced many champions, among which a Collie 'Juniors World Champion'. Sandor has presided over the Debrecen Kennel Club for many years and he is an expert in the F.C.I. groups I, III, IV and VII.

SANGKUNAKUP, Mr. Ekarat

FCI Groups 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

Began his involvement with American show dogs in 1982. While best know for his award-winning Chows, Dobermans, Shih Tzus, & Pomeranians under the banner of his United Kennels, he has bred or owned many Champions in four different groups. Dogs bred and owned by Mr. Sangkunakup have amassed more than 200 All Breeds Best in Shows and over 380 Best Babies in Shows worldwide. Winner of a First Award of Merit at the Westminster Kennel Club, he was the first Thai to have a dog ranked in the Top Ten in the United States, back in 1991. 
Since that time, he has had more than 20 different dogs hold the #1 position, both US and in his native Thailand. Still actively involved in the American Dog Show scene, he was the first Thai to bring his locally bred dogs back to the US to be shown successfully. 
Well know throughout the world, he is licensed to judge in The United States, South America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and his native Thailand, where he is a member of the Kennel Club of Thailand and member of the Chow Chow Club of America. 
With his unique experience in a wide variety of breeds, he is presently licensed by FCI National and International to judge Best in Show, Groups 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and some of the Terrier Breeds. While looking forward to actively pursuing his judging career both here and abroad he continues to campaign his outstanding Thai bred dogs in the United States.

Rafael has been active in dogs since 1960, Treasurer of the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI), President of the Federación Canófila de Puerto Rico and member of the Standard Commission of the F.C.I. until 1999. 
Under his kennel name, “Radesa”, Rafael with Roberto Velez-Pico has bred Afghan Hounds, Briards, Scottish Deerhounds and Lakeland Terriers. Achieved Championships status for many of his bred Afghans. Licensed to judge all breeds since 1984. Has judged all over the world, including FCI World Dog Shows in Peru, Netherlands, Belgium, Mexico, Israel, Switzerland, Austria, Puerto Rico, Finland, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Brazil and Argentina. Judged the first International FCI Dog Show in China in 2006. 
Other important assignments include judging Best in Show at Milan International, Italy 1991. Judged “Dog of The Year” at Portugal; Collare de Oro, Italy; The Supreme FCI Championship 1997; Westminster Kennel Club in New York, 1995; Denmark, Australia, Ireland, Brazil, Canada, Russia, Spain, Gibraltar, France, USA, Chile, Venezuela, Guatemala, Finland, Ukraine, Argentina, Panama, Uruguay, Japan, Slovakia and Colombia among many other countries. SANTOS III, Augusto Benedicto Syjuco

FCI Sporting, Hounds & Working Groups

Dinky was born in 1967 to a family of “Bankers” and “Animal Lovers” - a known Santos tradition which goes back to over a century and many generations. Dinky’s saga with Labrador Retrievers started when his father bought him his first Lab at the age of two years old. While growing up, his father owned, bred and showed a variety of breeds with the German Shepherd Dog always at the forefront.
Dinky has been showing dogs for as long as he can remember. As early as 4 years of age, he would often accompany his Father to the dog shows. They owned a German Short Haired Pointer, Philippine Ch Weidenbach B’s Mac V Jove CDX (USA), who is, on record, the first Sporting Dog to win Best in Show in 1973 and the first dog in history to become a Philippine Champion and a Companion Dog on the same day. Together with his father and siblings, he was also involved with Japanese Akitas, Bull Terriers, and German Shepherd Dogs before personally getting engrossed with the Labrador Retriever in 1988.
Dinky’s SUNSHADOW Labrador Retrievers is one of the main forces behind the success of the Philippine Labrador Retriever today. He campaigned the legendary Phil Grand Ch Driftway Truffle to become the PCCI’s #1 Dog for 1996, #5 for 1995 and #3 for 1997. He has owned, bred, and/or campaigned more than 100 Champions, Grand Champions and/or Hall of Fame Labrador Retrievers – at least 50 of which are Sunshadow homebred. Sunshadow presently stands the #1 All-Breed “Sire of Champions” in Philippine history - Grand Ch Veyatie Driving Along “CHUCK” (UK) – who, as of this writing, has sired forty-four (44) Champions both here and abroad.
Dinky was awarded the distinction “Life Member” of the PCCI in 2005. He was the founding President of The Labrador Retriever Club Incorporated (LRCI) back in 1994. He is a full-member of the prestigious Labrador Retriever Club (UK) and was bestowed “Honorary Life Member” of the Kennel Club of Pakistan. He is also currently a member of the General Committee of the Federacion Cynologique Internationale (FCI) “Asian Section.”
Dinky has been a member of the Board of the Philippine Canine Club since 2003. He has held the positions of Assistant Corporate Secretary (2003-2005), Corporate Secretary (2005) and he is currently the President and Chairman of the Board of the Philippine Canine Club, Incorporated (PCCI). He is currently licensed to judge the Sporting and the Working Groups at Championship Level under the rules and regulations of the PCCI and of the FCI. He has judged numerous shows around the Philippines, Thailand and China.

SCHEEL, Mrs. Birte  

FCI Groups 4 & 6 + several breeds in Groups 1, 2, & 9

Has been in dogs since 1971 when she got her first Basset Hound while still in school. Together with husband Kresten Scheel she is still active with the Bassets in the ring and they have a litter about every second year to keep them supplied with a new show puppy or two. In 1983 they bought a gold Lhasa Apso puppy from Jean Blyth/Saxonsprings in England and were active in the show ring with  Lhasas for many years. Their breeding DK/NL/INTCH Scheel's Fame-N-Fortune was the Top Lhasa bitch in Denmark for several years, Top Lhasa in 1995 and all bred Best in Show winner. Was the Danish Lhasa Club's secretary for a number of years and still has three old Lhasas as pets. A few years ago she also got interested in the Shetland Sheepdog and now has two Shelties, a blue and a sable. Has shown dogs in Scandinavia, Germany, Holland, Belgium and the U.S. and done very well over the years.  In 1993 got  judging license from the Danish Kennel Club and is now authorized for 18 breeds in the F.C.I. groups 1, 2, 6 & 9.  Has judged both international all breed Kennel Club shows and specialities all over Scandinavia, in Germany, Holland, England, Ireland, Poland and the U.S.

SCHEEL, Mr. Kresten  

FCI All Breeds

Has been in dogs more or less whole life as parents were breeders of Labrador Retrievers, Basset Hounds, Bloodhounds and Basset Petit Griffon Vendeens. Got first own dog at 14 years old in 1970, a Basset Hound. Together with wife Birte Scheel has produced some very nice Bassets through the years of which Danish/American CH Scheel’s First Edition ROM is probably the most well know. In 1985 he was WD & BOW at the Basset Hound Club of America 50 years Anniversary Show and he also had several all breed Best in Shows in Denmark and was also Winner of Winners in 1988 in competition with all the top winners of all breeds from the previous year. He also was a tremendous stud dog with over 50 champions both here in Europe and in the U.S. One of his sons, DK/AM CH Scheel’s Riveredge Rubber Duck repeated his fathers success by also being WD and BOW at the American Basset Nationals in 1991.  Got judges license in 1987 for Basset Hounds and now 17 years later is authorized for All Breeds. Has judged at the American Basset Nationals in Rhode Island in 1994 and the Australian Basset Nationals in Brisbane in 1999. Besides these two countries has judged in all Scandinavian countries, Germany, Holland. Belgium, England, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Estland, Letland – both international Kennel Club shows and specialities. Member of the Danish Kennel Club’s judges education and evaluation committee. Board member of the Danish Judges Association.

SCHEMEL, Dr. Andreas PHD MRCVS

Toys. Terrier & Utility

Andreas became involved in dogs in 1977 when he bought his first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He later became involved with Terriers, specifically Kerry Blue Terriers. At that time he started stewarding at National and International shows and officiated as a steward and interpreter for foreign judges especially in the Toy, Utility, and Terrier breeds. In 1985 he began to train as a judge under the rules of the Austrian Kennel Club (ÖKV) and passed the examination in 1987. He began by judging Japanese Chins, King Charles Spaniels and Cavaliers and has since been passed to award CACIB at International Shows in many breeds. Andreas has been invited to judge at major dog shows in Australia, America and across Europe and has now built a reputation as one of the UK's top show judges. This year his judging skills have been recognised and he was invited by the Kennel Club to judge at the UK's top dog show Crufts in 2007. He has judged in all European countries (except Spain, Iceland and Romania), Russia, Israel, South Africa, Australia and the USA, in most parts of them on a regular basis, including several World Shows. He is a Veterinary Surgeon, specializing in small animal medicine and Veterinary Cardiology. He wrote his doctorate on heart valve disease in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. He has bred/shown Cavaliers, King Charles Spaniels, Pugs, Griffons and Kerry Blue Terriers, and made up Austrian, International, World Champions and 2 English Champions. He was an active member of the Research Centre of Hip Dysplasia (Vienna) and represented Austria in the newly formed committee for research on the eradication of Patella Luxation. In 1993, he moved to England and in 1997 became a member of the Kennel Club.

SCHERITA, Mrs. Olga

FCI All Breeds

Olga is President of Moldavian Kennel Union (Uniunea Chinologica din Moldova) since 1987, a qualified veterinary doctor and an all-round - FCI judge.  Together with her husband Viktor and daughter Clavdia they are breeding dogs under the kennel name “Dikaya Staya”. 
They have the following breeds in their kennel: Rottweiler, Caucasian and Central Asian Shepherd dogs, Scottish Terrier, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Jack Russell Terrier, Mastino Napolitano, Irish Wolfhound, Chow Chow. They have exported dogs to many countries – Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, Russia, Belarussia, Finland, Greece, America and other countries. Owner of kennel “Dikaya Staya”, where she has Junior World Winners, European Winners and more than 20 International Champions. 

SCHICKER, Mrs. Gisa

FCI Group 6 +

Dogs have enriched Gisa's life from her early childhood. She grew up in a family where her grandparents were lovers of German Spitz while her parents always had Dachshunds. She got her first Miniature Dachshund when she was four years old. Gisa and her husband Walter have bred Pepper & Salt Schnauzers and Mini Schnauzers since 1973 and from 1982 to 1998 they exclusively bred black Giant Schnauzers under the prefix ‘vom Bartenwetzers’. Many of their dogs have passed their working trials, some possessed and still possess some of the most demanding working certificates. Additionally the Swiss Army has successfully trained them to be rescue and avalanche dogs. Initially Gisa was approved to judge Giant Schnauzers, Schnauzers, Miniature Schnauzers, Pinschers and Affenpinscher. After that she qualified as a specialist judge for Newfoundlands, Dalmatians and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. She is also qualified to judge the complete FCI group six and therefore authorized to judge all the scent Hounds and related breeds in that group. Her judging experience has covered International and National shows and numerous Title shows in almost all European countries as well as New Zealand and Brazil. Different European Winner shows and Bundessieger Shows of the
German Kennel Club have been very significant to her but perhaps the most memorable and prestigious judging appointments have been at the FCI World Winners Shows in Italy 2000 and in Germany 2003. She has judged Junior Handling at National and International levels. Gisa is co-author of a book on Giant Schnauzers and author of various articles on how to keep and breed dogs successfully. For almost thirty years she has been involved in dog club administration in various roles, for example different functions in the German Pinscher-Schnauzer Klub such as breed warden. She is involved in the Judges Training Scheme as a teaching judge for the Pinscher-Schnauzer Klub and the Deutsche Neufundlander Klub.

SCHICKER, Mr. Walter Karl

FCI All Breeds

Walter's grandfather got a cross-bred black Doberman for him when he was only six years old. His grandparents enjoyed farming on a small scale and so he developed a natural closeness to animals at a very early age. Following the Second World War, it was necessary to concentrate on the basic things of life. Eventually he finished secondary school and took up studies in English, Political Science and Psychology at Marlburg University and King’s College, University of Durham located in Northumberland. In 1967 he married a dog lover. Tragically, in 1968 their black Schnauzer escaped from their new home and was killed by a car. This was a terrible blow to them. Then shortly after that fate took a hand in the advance of their life with dogs. They bought a pepper and salt Schnauzer bitch, she turned out to be a high quality dog and so she marked the
beginning of their show and breeding careers. They have bred, owned, trained and shown all three sizes of Schnauzers to championship Group wins, Best in Show, International Champions, European Champions and Bundessieger. In the past 20 years they have concentrated on black Giant Schnauzers. Until they gave up showing and breeding in favor of their judging careers in 2000, they had 34 litters of mainly black Giants under the affix ‘vom Bartenwetzer’. As the Giant Schnauzer is classified as an FCI working dog, all their bitches as well as stud dogs they used, had to have passed their working trials. Dogs from their kennel have served in the Swiss Army as rescue and avalanche dogs and many of them
proved their qualities as security and tracking dogs apart from their successes in the show ring. For over thirty years Walter and his wife Gisa have been heavily involved in dog club administration. In 1999 they published a book on Giant Schnauzers as a result of their breeding experience in that time. Walter is currently a member of the VDH Standard and Judges Committees and belongs to the teaching staff. He believes that judging is a constant learning process and so he has been very pleased to participate as co-organizer and panel member of symposiums where the topics of conformation, movement, judging and dog legislation have been discussed. He started his judging career in 1984 and gradually worked his way up as FCI All Breed judge, Best in Group and Best in Show judge. His international judging career has taken him to many parts of the world. He has had the privilege of judging in the very many European countries, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil and South Africa and all that was climaxed with the apex of judging assignments for the World Winners Shows in Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany. Fluent in German, English, French & Spanish.

SCHILL Dr. Roberto

Born the 24th of February 1969 in Arad, Roberto is a Physician by profession, an international show judge since 1998, all rounder since 2007, the President of the Toy Club of Romania. For about 20 years he has bred Medium Poodles (white and black), then Miniature Pinschers.. A Physician by profession, Roberto is the owner of the DARALIS kennel since the '80s, producing dogs of breeds such as Caniche, Yorkshire Terrier, Papillon, Pugs, Shih Tzu and Miniature Pinscher. Caniche dogs from the DARALIS kennel are a quality benchmark for this breed in Romania.  He's reputed as a Toy Breeds Specialist. Has judged shows in Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Croatia, Greece, Monte Negro, Moldavia and Russia. Fluent in English, German, Hungarian, & Italian. 

SCHNEIDER, Mr. Marcelo Tuck

FCI All Breeds

Marcelo Tuck Schneider, born into a traditional Brazilian breeders family, started out breeding Beagles in 1977, using the family kennel name Bangor. Bangor Beagles are generally owner handled. Has more than 100 champions in about 10 countries. Very rarely there is a professional handler involved, and always have had the merit of not being "masked" that is no coloring are used on their backs, prepared their tails, or given anabolic pills that eventually may fool judges, but will never fool genetics. Marcelo, besides breeding Beagles participates actively in the dog world. He is on the board of the local Kennel Club, has been the proprietor of a Canine Magazine and is a all-round judge since 1988 (when he was only 29) having had the opportunity to officiate in several countries- in South America and Europe. Professionally he owns a partnership in First de Comunicação a advertising company in São Paulo, BRAZIL.

SCHNITZER, Mr. Wolfgang 

ANKC Terrier, Gundog, Hound and Working Groups

Wolfgang is a licensed judge for the Terrier, Gundog, Hound and Working Groups. He has been involved in showing and breeding dogs for more than 30 years. He has judged extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. His involvement has included Standard Long Haired and Standard Smooth Haired Dachshunds and English Springer Spaniels.
For the last seventeen years Wolfgang and partner Eric Soti (see at bottom of page) have concentrated on the breeding and exhibiting of Standard Long Haired Dachshunds under the "Keaton" prefix. They have been successful in breeding Royal Challenge winners in most States of Australia, including Runner-Up Best Hound at the Adelaide Royal Show and Best Hound and Best Puppy Hound at the Melbourne Royal Show. They have also been successful at Specialties with Best In Show winners, either bred or owned by them, including Best Exhibit In Show and Reserve In Show at five of the seven National Specialties held. They made history when two of their homebred champions (owner/handled) became the first of the same breed to be Supreme Best and Reserve Best at the prestigious Battle of the Champions contest - achieved with a father/son team. This winner repeated the win at the same contest the following year. 2005 saw them once again win this prestigious contest with another of their homebred champions. At this same event they have won "Dogtainers Puppy of the Year" on four occasions.

SCOGGINS, Mr. Ralph "Skip"

Ralph Wm. Scoggins or "Skip", as he is known by friends and throughout the dog world, obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Western University (known as the University of Texas at El Paso) and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas. He has been in the legal profession for 39 years serving as Judge of the 41st District Court of the State of Texas, a Mediator and Arbitrator, and as a three term Member of the Legislature of the State of Texas. In a semi-retired manner, he still practices law and acts as a Mediator and Arbitrator. 
"Skip" purchased his pure bred dog, a Great Dane, in l955 and entered his first dog show in March l956. He and his former wife, Sandra, founded the Great Dane Club of El Paso (Texas' first Affiliate) and aided many Great Dane Clubs in Texas and Southwest in their beginning. A member of the Great Dane Club of America for 41 years, he served as Parliamentarian and First Vice President. A licensed judge by the American Kennel Club for over 33 years, he is also, an approved All Breed Judge by the Federacion Cynologique Internationale and Federacion Canofila Mexicana since l974. "Skip" has judged throughout the United States, North, Central and South America, and New Zealand. 
Over the past 45 years under the kennel names "'Acerino" and "Xenecu", he has (in a limited breeding program) owned, bred, and finished many champions from the first Ch. Gailord of Timberwolf (Great Dane) to the Intl. Ch. Xenecu Peluchin (Xoloitzcuintle). He has also owned, bred and finished dogs of other breeds: Bassett Hound, Fox Terrier (Smooth), Alaskan Malamute, and Bedlington Terrier.

SCOTTON, Mrs. Cathy 

ANKC Toys, Terriers, Gundogs, Working Dogs

Cathy is a third generation dog exhibitor. Her grandfather bred and exhibited English Setters. Her father assisted in handling them as well as helping his Aunts who exhibited Irish Setters and English Cockers. Cathy has been breeding and exhibiting Cairn Terriers for 27 years in Australia. During this time she has bred ten Grand Champions and many Best in Show All Breed and Specialty winners.
She is presently licensed for four groups... Toys, Terriers, Working and Gundogs. She has judged the Terrier Specialty in all states of Australia as well as in New Zealand, Canada and Sweden. She has also judged Terriers and the other licensed breeds around Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States, South Korea, Italy, Sweden and Denmark. She is presently licensed as an All Breed Judge in South Korea, a member of the FCI and awaiting confirmation of this from the VCA.

SEARLE, Mr. Robin

Hound, Pastoral, Working

Robin has been part of the show scene in the U.K. and Ireland for more years than he would like to admit to. He has a wide knowledge of showing, breeding and judging dogs and is currently passed to award C.C.’s in over 40 breeds by The Kennel Club (London), as well as the Hound Group, Pastoral Group, Working Group and Best in Show at Championship Level. He has judged many of these breeds in countries throughout the world as well as at Crufts where he judged the Hound Group in 2006 and more recently the Pastoral Group in March 2009.

SEDYH, Mrs. Natalya 

FCI All Rounder

She started breeding and showing pure breed dogs in 1964. She breeds Airedale Terrier, Schnauzer and Griffon Bruxellois. She is a judge since 1971 and an all-rounder since 1998. She is also a qualified judge for working tests. She is chinotehnist for the most important Kynological Association of Sankt Petersburg.  Natalya is well known as one of the leading experts and the most dedicated breeders of the Griffon Bruxellois in Russia. She started breeding the rough and smooth-coated Griffon Bruxellois a decade ago and continues to exercise professional and dedicated approach in doing so. Natalya has bred several generations of domestic and international dog show winners with the Syurpriz iz Podmoskovya affix.

SEDYH, Mr. Nikolay

FCI All Rounder

He is a judge since 1975 and an all-rounder since 2003. He is also a qualified judge for working tests. He is the President of the most important kennel club from St Petersburg and he is a member of the Russian Kynological Federation (RKF) board. He and his wife Natalya are breeding Griffon Bruxellois since 1993, the Sedyh's being the first to introduce this breed in Russia.

SELIMOVIC, Mr. Igor

FCI All Breeds

Igor was born in 1963 and has lived all his life near Zagreb - a centre of dog world in Croatia. Being an addict to active and sporting life he started his kennel IGGY BOX in 1987. He chose Boxers for "his" breed as he was particularly interested in working dogs. In almost twenty years of active breeding and working with dogs he bred more then 35 litters and raised numerous champions in conformation and working. During this time he also owned or co-owned many world known Boxers who were winning the top prizes. 
He became a dog show judge in 1992. Starting with Molossoid breeds, adding Shepherds, in December 2003 he became an all round judge. 
During his judging career he judged at the most important all breeds championship shows and specialities all over the world - Italy, Belgium, Israel, Russia, Gibraltar, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden, Cyprus, Latvia, Germany, Ukraine, Estonia, Bulgaria, Norway, Lithuania, Ireland, Moldavia, Georgia, Indonesia, India and Australia. 
He also judged Eurodog Show in Helsinki 2006, World Dog Show in Poznan – Poland 2006, Russia show 2006 and Eurasia show 2007 in Moscow. He will judge boxers at the Euro Dog Show 2008 in Budapest – Hungary, and Boxer, Borzoi, Chow Chow, South Russian Sheepdog at the FCI-World Dog Show 2010 in Denmark. 
He has performed various functions in the Croatian Kennel Club, being active in numerous Committees. He was the General Secretary from 1996-2004, and from 2004-2007 he was a vice President of the Croatian Kennel Club. He was an active member of the organizing committee for all major shows in Croatia. In 2005 - 2007 he was the member of FCI Judge Committee. 
His profession is graphic designer. He is the author of four books about dogs. For more than five years he was publisher of monthly dog magazine – «Naši psi – bez granica», the only one in Croatia, where, besides being a publisher and editor, he was also engaged as a photo reporter. 

SEWELL, Mrs. Joanne

ANKC All Breeds

Joanne was born into a family with Smooth Fox Terriers (her Grandfather bred them), then when she was 18 she received her first Cocker Spaniel who lived to be 21. In the meantime Joanne fell in love with Old English Sheepdogs in 1971 and still has four in her home. She has exported to the U.S.A. and Sweden, and has over 32 Champions around Australia and abroad. Became an All Breeds judge in 1994. Been Secretary/Treasurer of many clubs, also Chairperson of Show Judges Training Committee. Was on original Working Dog Club and still President of that club together with President of Fremantle All Breeds Dog Club. Is a Canine Councillor and Chairperson of the Canine Fundraiser Committee. She has judged in every state of Australia, many times within New Zealand, U.S.A., Indonesia, Manilla, Thailand, Japan, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Has judged Best in Show overseas at least 20 times.

SEYMOUR, Mr. Steve

ANKC Toy, Terrier, Hound, Non-Sporting Groups

Steve began showing Beagles and Griffons in the mid 70’s and breeding together with his late mother they bred under the ”Beagriff” prefix. He won his first BIS in 1978 with a Beagle and since then they have been lucky to have bred or owned many BIS winners in both breeds.
In Griffons they have bred several all breeds BIS winners and at Specialty level won BIS over 10 times. In Beagles Steve won BIS at the 2nd National in Melbourne and made up several Champions. He also owned a BIS winning Whippet and a Group winning Japanese Chin and Wire Fox Terrier. There are Beagriff Champions in over 8 countries.
Steve is currently living in the UK and judges almost every month somewhere in Europe. In the UK he is approved to award CC’S in Beagles, Griffons and Australian Terriers. He has judged worldwide in over 25 countries. He also writes a regular column in ”Dog World” and has had articles published in the USA, South Africa and Australia.

SHANAHAN, Ms. Leigh

Leigh's involvement with her chosen breed, the Collie (Rough) began as a small child and she was first approved to judge Collies (both varieties) in 1982 and approved for the Group in 1989. Currently she is ANKC approved to judge Working Dogs, Gundogs, Hounds & Toy Groups. She has judged extensively in NSW, several times in Victoria, a few times in Queensland, and Western Australia.
In recent years, due to other commitments, she has not bred a litter and showing has also been very limited. However she has maintained her interest through judging and club and committee involvement. She is a member of the RNSWCC Show Committee (2001 - 2003) and currently the Show & Contest of Champions Secretary for Sutherland Shire All Breeds Kennel Club Inc. She has also assisted with the RNSWCC Judges Training Scheme for Group 5 both as an examiner and assessor of aspirant judges. Leigh has successfully been campaigning Löwchens since early 2004.

Exhibited his first dog, Smooth Fox Terrier in 1953. Former all breed handler, past President of New York Boxer Club and American Lhasa Apso Club, has bred or owned Affenpinschers, Norwich Terriers, Boxers, Lhasa Apsos, Whippets, Brussels Griffons, English Toy Spaniels, Maltese, Min. Schnauzers, Pugs, Toy Manchester, Old English Sheepdogs, Wire & Smooth Fox Terrier, Poodles, Dobes, and Labs. His Affenpinscher, "Bear" was first in world in his breed to win BIS.  Received the Ken'L'Ration Non-sporting group handlers award in 1972 and Gaines Medal for Good Sportsmanship in 1994.  Former AKC delegate, and currently licensed to judge BIS, Toys, Non-sporting, Terriers & Working.  Has judged in Australia, Argentina, Canada, Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, Ireland, Guatemala, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, South Africa, Holland, Taiwan, Spain, Italy.  In 2000 he was invited to judge American Lhasa Apso Specialty and Chinese Crested, as well as Maltese Specialty in Japan. also International Ch. show in Argentina, as well as some 50 plus shows in U.S. In 2001 he judged at World Show in Portugal. 

SHARRETT, Neridah

ANKC Group 2 Terrier Specialist

Secretary of WA Terrier Club for numerous years (early 1980’s), also served one year as President. Served on the Canine Assoc of WA Pure Breeds Protection committee, preparing briefs to government on tail docking and changes to the Dog Act. Chaired the Canine Association of WA Investigations Committee for two years (2006 &7). Currently chairing and running the CAWA Steward Training scheme. 
Neridah's primary breed is Irish Terriers (prefix Anluan), having owned and shown them since 1983. Bred the top terrier in NSW 1996, all breeds, Ch Anluan Top Gunn, owned and shown by Liz Walmsley. She also owned and campaigned the top Irish Terrier in Australia (Dogzonline point score) 2007 – Ch Glenboyd Laoch Linus. The first Irish Terrier breeder in the world to breed a litter (9 pups) from imported frozen semen, this was in 1993. 
She added Lakeland Terriers and Wire Fox Terriers to her show team in early 1990, establishing the Tripwire breeding prefix with her two good friends Liz Walmsley (Coolaney Irish Terriers) and Lorraine Pitt (Rievaulx Airedale Terriers) in mid 1990. Jointly they owned the Top Terrier in WA, Ch Manesty Lite Up the World (Lakeland) who also won Best in Tournament at the WA Terrier Club Inaugural Tournament of Terriers. At the same event they also won opposite sex in Tournament with Wire Fox Terrier Ch Tuffwire Twilight Star.
Neridah has owned, prepared and handled Airedale Terriers, Welsh Terriers as well as one Smooth Fox Terrier to his title. She has judged in Australia and New Zealand. Member of The Irish Terrier Club of Australia.

SHEPPARD, Mr. John

John began as a child handler in the late 60's. He has been involved as an exhibitor & or breeder with Maltese, Chinese Cresteds, Pomeranians, Pekingese, Tenterfields Terriers, American Cockers & Boston Terriers. He is best known for his Shih Tzus. He has judged in the UK, South Africa, Japan, Finland, Taiwan, most of Asia & New Zealand.

SHIBOLETH, Myrna

Myrna has always been a Collie person, since reading the Albert Payson Terhune books and Lassie Come Home as a child. She got her first collie in 1968, and has been breeding since 1970. Over the years, in order to achieve her personal image of what a perfect collie is, she has imported dogs from England, the US, Germany, Finland, Holland, and Brazil. To date, she has bred and/or owned about 35 Israel Champions, 7 International Champions, 3 World Winners, and a number of additional titles. She has shown dogs in the US, a number of European countries, and South Africa and Zambia, and has also worked with collies in obedience, agility, tracking, and sheep work; for her, the Collie is a total dog, not just beautiful, but a true companion who can accompany her in anything she cares to do, and is willing and eager to learn anything she wants to teach it.
Myrna's second breed, the Israel Canaan Dog, fascinated her from her first acquaintance with it. The Canaan Dog is unique in being one of the very few breeds that is still natural and unchanged, therefore very much like what the original dog must have been. She has been breeding Canaans since 1969, and has produced over 50 champions, many International Champions, World Winners, and other titles. She is very proud to say that her dogs provide the basis for the most successful breeders all over the world. She is considered the world authority on the breed and has lectured on the Canaan Dog in Israel, Finland, France, England, Italy, and the US.
Myrna became a judge of Collies in 1971, and has since then added a large number of breeds. She is an FCI judge of all of Group 5, and additional breeds. She enjoys the process of learning about the various dogs, and feels that this makes her more competent to make good breeding decisions in her own breeds. She has judged in the US, Israel, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Luxembourg, Poland, Germany, Cyprus, France, and Denmark.
She is a founding member of the International Collie Society and also the breeding coordinator for Collies in the Israel Herding Breeds Club and has been for a number of years, and for Canaan Dogs and a number of other breeds for the Israel Spitz Dog Club. Past member of the board of the Israel Kennel Club, and past President of the Israel Spitz Dog Club. 
Myrna frequently writes for various dog publications in Israel and abroad, and is a regular contributor to "Collie Revue" in Germany. She has had two books published, one in Hebrew on the Collie, and one in Hebrew and English on her other breed, the Canaan Dog. Another book that she wrote about her experiences with dogs, "Tails of Shaar Hagai", has been published in German and is awaiting publication in English. She regularly lectures on a wide variety of canine subjects, including behavior, structure and movement, training methods, and breeding, both in Israel and abroad, and has given the first advanced course in canine subjects for the Cyprus Kennel Club for their judging aspirants. She gave a similar course in France in July 2005. Mostly, she lives with and enjoy her dogs. They give her a great deal of pleasure, and it is always hard to leave them when she goes away.

Rosemary has been active in the sport of breeding, showing, performance events (field trials and earthdog events) under the affix Roschel (Perm Registered) with my husband, Michael, since 1970. They have bred several Canadian and United States All-Breed Best in Show, Group and National event winning Weimaraners over the years. They are now actively and successfully breeding and exhibiting Border Terriers. With a close breeding association with the Conundrum Border Terriers in Leicester, they are familiar with the dog world in the U.K. having attended many shows and events.
She has judged in Canada, the U.S., Australia and Venezuela. Also, she has judged regional and national specialties in Canada, the U.S. and Australia for Weimaraners.
Rosemary has been active in many dog clubs, being Secretary and founding member of the Weimaraner Association of Canada, Director of Caledon Kennel Association, Director of the Border Terrier Club of Ontario, President and founding member of Border Terrier Canada, member of the Strategic Planning Committee for the Canadian Kennel Club and member of the Border Terrier Club of America and the Weimaraner Club of America. While Secretary of the Weimaraner Association of Canada, she was Secretary to the first Field Dog Test held in Canada. The Border Terrier Club of Ontario also hosted the first Earthdog Test held in Ontario (2nd test nationally) and Rosemary was on the Test Committee that hosted this event. She was the Specialty Chair for the 2005 Border Terrier Club of America National Specialty, including conformation, obedience, earthdog tests, agility and tracking held in St. Louis, Missouri.

SHREVE, Mr. Robert

Mr Shreve has always had an affinity with dogs, but began exhibiting West Highland White and Wire Haired Fox Terriers in 1967 and continued doing so until he was granted his judging license for the Terrier Group in 1988. He has also exhibited an Airedale, Kerry Blue, Dobermann and a Manchester Terrier. He was licensed to judge the Herding( Group 5) group in 1994 and the Working Group ( Group 6) in 2001. Mr Shreve has judged extensively throughout the United States and Canada and has also judged in New Zealand and Australia (2005).

SHRIGLEY, Mrs. Sue

Having always been interested in the breeding, exhibiting and judging of purebred dogs, Sue purchased her first Weimaraner in 1973 and from there on there was never another breed for her. Ghostwind Kennels was established soon after the first Weimaraner arrived. Since then Ghostwind has bred, or Ghostwind dogs and bitches have bred in excess of 100 Champions. The most famous Weimaraner in Australia was Ch Ghostwind Claim to Fame, himself the winner of 24 Best in Show All Breeds, a record for an owner, breeder, and handler, never yet beaten in Australia in the breed. Fame is behind many of the leading kennels in Australia & New Zealand. Over the years, Ghostwind has imported several Weimaraners from the USA and the bloodlines from these imports are still in their breeding lines today. One of their latest imports from the USA was awarded the Top Pedigree Dog Award in Tasmania for 2007 & 2008. Their newest import, Am Ch Wager's Winning Streak (imp USA ) joined us at Ghostwind in February this year. In 1985 Sue took ownership of her first Smooth Fox Terrier male, & in 1986 he won Best in Show at Sydney Royal. She continued to breed and exhibit Smooth Fox Terriers, winning many Best in Show awards and Top Terrier Honours for approximately 10 years before becoming interested in Labradors. In 2003 Sue and her husband relocated from Western Australia to Tasmania where they spend their time with the Weimaraners and Labradors by the water, so the dogs have a wonderful lifestyle. Sue is an ex Governing Councillor of the Tasmanian Canine Association and The Canine Association of WA. She has been extensively involved with the training of up and coming show judges. She has judged extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Canada, also Asia, India, Japan, the USA, Zimbabwe & Sweden, and is the President of the Weimaraner National Council in Australia and lectures extensively on many breeds.

SILVA, Mr. Luiz Fernando Ribas

Luiz Fernando Ribas Silva was born in the south of Brazil in the capital of Parana State, Curtiba. He became a specialist Dobermann judge by CBKC/FCI in 1982, when he was only 19 years old. This made him the youngest judge to graduate in the country. Twenty years later in 2002 he became an All Breeds judge. During this period he judged over 30 Dobermann Specialist shows in all regions of Brazil and several in Buenos Aires (Argentina). In 2000 he judged the Dobermann Festival in Sydney, Australia, and the Annual Speciality of Los Angeles Dobermann Pinscher Club in 2002. In 2004 he judged the lst National Speciality Show held in India, the first Dobermann Speciality of the Azteca Dobermann Club in Mexico, the annual Specialty of the Dobermann Club of Western Australia and the commemorative speciality of the 40th anniversary of Dobermann Club of Victoria in Melbourne. Over the last few years he has judged at all breed shows in Brazil as well as the show circuits in the United States, Canada, Australia, Mexico, South Korea, India and Argentina. Luiz was the only Brazilian judge who had the biggest number of judging assignments in the country and abroad last year.
He started his Dobermann breeding when he was just 11 years old, under the suffix of Charleston, and even with an average of just one litter a year, he bred over 100 champions in Brazil and abroad in 15 different countries, some of them are champions in the United States, Canada and Japan. Dogs bred by him have already won more than 200 all breed Best in Shows and Specialities in several continents, and most of those awards have been acquired as breeder/handler. Dogs from his breeding also won Brazilian National Rankings and became all breed number one dogs in Brazil for many years. Along with his wife Evelyne (also a specialist Dobermann conformation judge), Luiz was awarded as Dobermann Top Breeder of the Year in Brazil by national and speciality rankings 13 times in the last 15 years according to Brazilian Official National Breeder Ranking, including in 2004.

Simon has been into Rottweilers since 1974 and is the reputable breeder behind the kennel name "Lionbear". He was the President of the Philippine Rottweiler Club Inc. for four years and was instrumental in founding the Bullmastiff Club Federation in 2005. His prides are Philippine Hall of Fame and 2002 #2 Rottweiler Bitch in the Philippines named "Loral's Fine Wine of Lionbear; and, Philippine Hall of Fame Bullmastiff named "Steelmaz Hamlet". He was licensed to judge Companion Dog (CD) Obedience Trial in 2001 and All Breeds in the Philippines in 2005.

Keith started showing in the early 1960’s with Labradors, then English Cocker Spaniels (his greatest love) making up many champions. He handled the record winning BIS Labrador of all time in NZ. Two of these awards were under Gwen Broadley (Sandilands Labradors) and Reg Gaddson. He has owned/handled English Springers, Irish Setters and Briards and owned/shown Rough Coated Collies for 18 years.
Keith now has Weimaraners with his wife Pip, under the Carnmellis prefix, New Zealand’s foremost kennel with two out of the three Grand Champions being owned by them. (To attain Gr Ch status in NZ, one has to win 50 CC’s and have three All Breeds BIS wins under three different judges.) They have bred and campaigned the first longhair champion in the breed in NZ (shown against shorthairs). Specialty wins have been under UK, American specialists and the German Breed Warden.
Keith gained his All Breeds License in 1988 and has judged BIS All Breeds Championship Shows 35 times. Since starting to judge at Championship Shows he has judged over 25,000 dogs in seven countries.
In 1996, he judged at the Yankee Weimaraner Specialty; Part Gundogs (English Cockers, English Springers, Clumbers, Field Spaniels, Irish Setters, German SH Pointers, German WH Pointers, Labradors and English Pointers); Part of the Herding Group including Best of Group; (Welsh Corgies, Cardigan Corgis, Old English and Belgium Shepherds) at Ladies and Framingham All Breeds Championship Shows. In September 2003 he judged at the Darlington Dog Show, England, with a Club record entry of 195 Weimaraners. He also judged Australian Terriers, Japanese Spitz, Schipperke, Bouvier, Leonbergers and Anatolians. He has judged over 50 appointments in Australia with the best being Gundogs and BIS at Canberra Royal (less English Cockers that were judged by Sylvia Bunting, UK) 400 Gundogs, 2,200 in total at the show.
Appointments in 2004 included All Breeds & BIS - Philippines KC, All Gundogs - South Korea (Seoul Int. Dog Show), All Breeds & BIS - Singapore KC. In 2006 he judged at shows in Winnipeg and Toronto, Canada and a Weimaraner Specialty.
Club involvement - Past President/Committee member Waikato & District Spaniel Club, Waikato & District Collie Club, Waikato Gundog Club, Cambridge Kennel Assoc., Huntly & Districts Kennel Assoc. (Life Member), member of the Waikato Judges Assoc., ex NZKC Delegate. NZKC Judges Examiner for aspiring Championship Show judges for four years, being senior for two years.
At present he's on the Judges Selection Committee for Hamilton Kennel Assoc. and recently became President.

SIMPSON, Mr. Jimmy

Jimmy started showing dogs 46 years ago, firstly with Pekingese and now Papillons. After 45 years he had the pleasure of judging Pekingese at Crufts for the first time in 2006. He judgde Papillons at Crufts in 2008 and will judge another breed in 2010. He has bred several Champions in UK in both breeds also Champions in USA and Germany.
He considers himself to be a Toy Specialist and awards CC’s in: Affenpinschers, Bichons, Cav KCS, Chinese Cresteds, Japanese Chins, Maltese, Min Pins, Papillons, Pekingese, Pomeranians, Pugs, Yorkies. He awaits KC approval to award CC’s in S/C and L/C Chihuahuas also Griffons in the near future.
Jimmy has judged abroad on several occasions and has judged the Toy Group in the UK at Championship level numerous times – one of the most memorable being at Driffield Championship Show 2006 where he awarded the Group to a delightful Griffon. The ringside erupted in a tremendous round of applause!  He judged the Toy Group at Bath Championship show in May 2007. 
When they lived in Aberdeen in Scotland, Jimmy and his wide Dorothy helped form the North of Scotland Pekingese Club and The North of Scotland Toy Dog Society. Both Societies still flourish. His involvement includes Chairman of 2 Toy breed clubs in England ( Pekingese and Papillons); 1 General Open Show Society (Selby Canine Society); a Committee member of Darlington General Championship Show and he is also a Toy Dog Delegate on the Kennel Club Breeds Liaison Council.

SINGH, Mr. Jagteshwar

Born on 6th May 1952 in the erstwhile state of Patiala, his late father had the privilege to serve on personal staff of late H. H. Sir Bhupendra Singh & late H. H. Sir, Yadvindra Singh. After finishing his education he joined Markfed, Punjab (biggest co-operative organization of Asia). After putting in 30 years of service he retired as a Field Officer. Being brought up in a family of royal tastes he has kept dogs since childhood. Started showing dogs actively from 1978. Founder member of Tri Star Kennel Club, Ambala and Chandigarh Kennel Club, Chandigarh. Life Member of Kennel Club of India of India since 1984. 
Acquired the prefix/affix of Marshal’s in May 1982 and bred over a dozen champions in Labradors. Bred high quality of GSD’s including CH. Cupid of Marshals which went Best Bred in India Dog of the year 1995 and defeated all the German Imports in his peak of career. Bred CH. Adonis of Marshal’s Tibetan Mastiff who won 32 CC’s and 4 RCC’s and many times went on the board and Best Bred in India dog. Also bred champions in Greater German Spitz and Dachshund Standard Smooth. Still has Labradors, Boxers and Dachshund’s. Being an animal lover also founder of S.P.C.A. Chandigarh. Actively judging in India since 2004. Patron of Y.M.C.A.Chandigarh. Actively associated with Alliance Francaise “Le Corbusier” de Chandigarh and above all a Freemason of long standing.

SINGH, Mrs. Premila 

FCI All Breeds

Mrs. Singh got into dogs with Scottish Terrier at the age of eight. Scotties held her interest for many years. However, she parted company with this delightful breed for want of fresh bloodlines. From Scotties she took to Golden Retrievers and has been with the breed for the next twenty two years. Mrs. Singh in 1967 won Best in Show under Nawab Nazeer Yar Jung. A little later she went to East Africa and lived there for ten years. Photography, her hobby, got the better of her while she was in Kenya and resulted in a fabulous collection of wild-life movies. To get back to dogs, while in the U.K. she studied Retrievers under Harry Grover and Jimmy James, the two giants. It was there that she gained her licence to judge setters abroad. After returning to India she did her judging stipendiaries and became an All Breed Judge nearly a decade ago. She is the main force behind the Golden Retrievers in this country and to some extent Setters as well. At present she is the only member from India of the Golden Retriever Club of Great Britain. 

SINKO, Mr. Stefan

FCI all breeds judge, regularly invited to all parts of the world. Mr Sinko started breeding and showing Bulldogs in 1979 and established the Jubilee Bulldog kennel. He has raised many national and international champions including FCI, European, and world winner Bulldogs. He has owned: Great Danes, Airedale Terriers, Basset Hounds, Dogo Argentine. Mr Sinko has judged at championship show level since 1986 on all continents, in total in 65 countries. He has judged prestigious shows including FCI European and World shows. In 2004 he judged Bulldogs at Crufts with a total entry of 210 exhibits, and has judged at the Brisbane Royal, and in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. From 1992 until 1997 he was the first democratically elected President of the Slovenian Kennel Club, foundation president of the Slovenian Molosser and big sized Breeds Club and the Slovenian Terrier Club. In the FCI from 1994 until 1996 he was vice president of the FCI judges committee, and at present is honorary president of several clubs.

Torbjörn acquired his first dog, a Great Dane, in 1968, and has bred and made up champions including American imports. Since 1980 his main breeds have been Lhasa Apsos and Tibetan Terriers and in 1988 Whippets were added all under the kennel name “Tintavon”. He has been a very active and successful breeder and handler and now concentrates mainly on judging and is licensed to judge over 60 breeds including all the Tibetan breeds, Newfoundlands, Papillons, Salukis, Shih Tzu, Great Danes, Schnauzer/Pincher breeds and Sight Hounds, Pugs, Poodles, Bichon Frise, Bearded Collies, Salukis, Afghan Hounds to name but a few. In 1993 he was awarded the Swedish Kennel Club's “Hamilton Plaque” for outstanding breeding of Lhasa Apsos, the first kennel in the breed to receive this award.
Torbjörn has judged in Norway, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Slovenia, Brazil, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and of course Sweden. He started the Swedish Club for Tibetan Breeds of which he was Chairman. He has also been Chairman of the Tibetan Terrier Club, Lhasa Apso Club and the Swedish Great Dane Club and member of the central committee. He has also been a committee member for the Swedish judges club. 
He has held many handling classes for all breeds and breed clubs. He especially enjoys judging Junior Handling and has judged the grand finals at Stockholm International in Sweden in 1994, Oslo Int. in Norway in l997 and Wellington in New Zealand in 1997. Torbjörn is fluent in Swedish, Norwegian, and English.

SKALIN, Mr. Bo

Mr. Bo Skalin has owned Giant Schnauzers since 1977 and Miniature Schnauzers since 1984. Breeding in Sweden over 50 Champions under prefix HassanHills during 1985-2004. He became authorized to judge international FCI shows in 1995. Over the years he has became an all-round judge for group 1, 2 4 and 8. He is authorized to judge several breeds within group, 3, 5, 6, 9 and 10. He is a breed specialist for all varieties of Schnauzers and Pinschers. He has moved to Finland in 2005 and judges under the Swedish Kennel Club, in Swedish or in English languages.
He has been judging at Breed Specials in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Spain, Italy and Russia. He also has judged at National and International shows in the Scandinavia, Greece, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Belgium ,Slovenia and South Africa.

Damir started breeding in 1990 and became a dog judge in 1993. Since then he has been judging at International, National and Special dogs shows in Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, Holland, Finland, Sweden, Mexico, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Spain, Ukraine, Estonia, Russia, White Russia and Poland. He judged at WDS in Mexico (invited to judge at the WDS in Poland). Also judged in Argentina, Australia, Slovakia and Finland. 
As a breeder, under the kennel name Saltus, he has bred and owned Miniature Pincher, Standard Schnauzers (Salt & Pepper), English Cocker Spaniel, Borzoi, German Hunting Terriers, Great Dane, Posavian Hound, Dachshunds (Standard Wire), Golden Retriever, Istrian Hound, and Epegnel Breton. 
During the last 10 years he has been a member of many different breed clubs and boards in Croatia and has been correspondent for some Croatian magazines and “Our Dogs” from UK. During that time he has been delegated many times for Croatian KC for general assemblies of FCI and meeting of European FCI section. At FCI European section general assembly 2004 in Barcelona he was elected to general committee of FCI European section. He is also a member of FCI Hound Commission. President of Croatian KC from 2004. He is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, working as a nutritional specialist.

SLOAN, Ms Teena 

ANKC Terriers, Gundogs, Utility & Non-Sporting Groups

Teena has been involved with dogs all of her life, firstly with her family, where there were always a couple of Boxers and which her mother successfully exhibited in the early 60's. In 1978 she purchased her first Boxer for showing and has since bred/owned over 30 Champions of which many were Best In Show winners. Teena has extended her breeds in the last 10 years to include Shih Tzu's of which she has bred 8 champions, she has campaigned 2 Skye Terriers and currently has the top Terrier in Tasmania. In the last 12 months she has also campaigned a Dandie Dinmont to his championship. Teena has just commenced with her judging career and is licensed to judge all Terriers, Utility Dogs & Non-Sporting.

SMITH, Dr. Harry

AKC All Breeds 

After World War 2 he joined his father in the breeding of Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. They showed them in trials only, not conformation. In early 50's he bought a pug "Pugholm's Little Jumping Joan" from the Soderburg's, whose Peter Pumpkin Eater had won the Toy Group at Westminster. "Joan" became the foundation bitch of his kennel, in southern Ohio. He exhibited only in vicinity of Southern Ohio, Indiana & Kentucky. His activity in pug world was extensive. He co-founded Pug Club of Greater Cincinnati, and was delegate of the National Pug Club for 10 years and owned first Black Pug to win the Pug Dog Club of America futurity under Mr. James Trullinger at Westchester Kennel Club show.  His judging assignments have included the Non-Sporting Group at the first AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, Toy Group at Westminster and other international shows from Wales to Japan. As an active member AENC Judging Panel 2 of 6 of the Pug Dog Club of America, Dr. Smith served as president and AKC delegate for 10 years. He is also a past delegate for the Troy New York Kennel Club. He has been a member of the Durham Kennel Club, serving as show chairman and breed instructor at weekly handling classes and is co-founder of the Pug Dog Club of Greater Cincinnati. Dr. Smith has a master’s degree and a doctorate in mathematics and has written an important book on the subject. When not traveling to shows, Dr. Smith enjoys needle point art, specializing in dogs. Some of his best work has been exhibited at the AKC offices. He began his judging career in 1966 with Pugs. He is now approved to judge all breeds. by AKC. He has judged in Australia, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, South Africa, Columbia, Philippines, New Zealand, Mexico, Singapore & Bangkok. Judged BIS at famous Wales Kennel Club in 2000. 

SMITH, Patricia Anne

ANKC Toy and Hound Groups 

Patricia started judging in the early 60's in Victoria Australia, came to Qld in 1971, and passed her Toy Championship license that year. Sat for each Group each year, and passed for the Open Show list and finally got the Championship Group 4 licence as well. 1992, moved to NSW, moved back to Qld in 1998. Her main breeds are Afghans and Pekingese.
Patricia has judged in South Africa 2000, (both Toy and Hound Groups) New Zealand north and south islands, doing both Groups. She has judged in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales in Australia. She also judged at a World Show in Genoa Italy, and did the Afghan Specialty during that time, (along with other SightHound breeds and Toy Breeds,) with her BOB Afghan dog going on to Best In Show, quite a thrill.
Patricia originally came from UK, born near Stonehenge. She moved to Australia with her mother and sister in 1955, since then she has been back once, a couple of years ago, and visited USA and Canada as well.

SMITH, Mrs. Polly D.

AKC Sporting, Hound, Terrier, Herding Groups (also most Toys)

Polly began showing as a child with Jade, a Chow Chow that was her “closest friend and best buddy.” In 1963 Mrs. Smith and her husband, all-breed judge Dr. Robert Smith, acquired their first American Foxhound, which took several Bests in Show. The Smiths went on to breed three generations of homebred BIS hounds and five generations of group winners, all breeder-owner-handled. She and Dr. Smith co-authored a book on American Foxhounds and have given seminars on the breed. Mrs. Smith became an AKC judge of Beagles and American Foxhounds in 1978 and currently judges the Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, and Herding groups, as well as several breeds in the remaining groups. She counts among the highlights of her career assignments at Australia’s Hunter Valley Hound Show, and at the Philadelphia, International Kennel Club of Chicago, Westchester, Tuxedo, and Del Monte kennel club shows, and Bred by Exhibitor (Sporting) at the AKC/Eukanuba National in 2005. She has held important posts at several clubs, and was a founding member of the Nashville Obedience Club, the Brandon Kennel Club, and the Middle Peninsula Kennel Club. She says, “I hope one of my accomplishments in the sport is to make the family with a pet find that showing and obedience can be a fun way to spend an afternoon or weekend.”

SMITH, Dr. Robert D. 

AKC All Breeds 

Dr. Robert D. Smith is a past member of the AKC Board of Directors. He began in the sport in 1960 exhibiting German Shepherd Dogs. But when his wife, Polly, bought him an American Foxhound puppy, the course of his life changed forever. Dr. and Mrs. Smith together bred three generations of Best in Show American Foxhounds and five generations of group winners. As an owner-handler, Dr. Smith had the top-winning American Foxhound for seven consecutive years and is a three-time Owner-Handler of the Year nominee. Dr. Smith is a respected all-breed judge who has officiated at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship on numerous occasions including a Hound Group assignment in 2002 and Best In Show 2008. Other prestigious assignments include the Westminster Kennel Club and International Kennel Club of Chicago. He has held every conceivable office in dog clubs including all-breed, obedience, group and specialty clubs. Dr. Smith holds a Ph.D. in political science and taught college for twelve years. He then developed and ran statewide small-business assistance programs in Virginia and Mississippi.

SNAITH, Mr. Ivor C.

ANKC All Breeds 

Ivor was given an English Cocker Spaniel for his 14th birthday, but later, after marriage to an Adelaide girl he bought her a Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) while doing social work in Liverpool. In 1954 after moving to Adelaide they both joined the SACA and have now been breeding and showing Corgi's for over 50 years!
Ivor obtained his All Breeds licence in 1973 and was Vice Chairman of the Judges Training Committee for over twenty years. He has judged in all states of Australia, both islands of New Zealand; Singapore and Malaysia; the USA, Canada, England and Italy.

SOLE, Mrs. L.  

NZKC Toys, Gundogs, Hounds

Started in the show world in 1973 with a cocker spaniel and this precipitated a seventeen year association with the breed showing and breeding and promoted a keen interest in the breed which has lasted to the present day. In addition she successfully showed two Welsh Springer Spaniels, both of whom were group winners and one of which had the distinction of being New Zealand's first multi Best in Show All Breeds winner and first Welsh Grand Champion. Also successfully showed English Springer Spaniels, an American Cocker Spaniel, Irish Water Spaniels and Gordon setters to Championship status, and over the years have handled a variety of breeds in the toy, hound and gundog rings. 
Other canine interests have been a Beagle who became a show champion and multi-group winner, who gained his Pack Manners in the field and who later competed in Obedience with his new owner - a Maltese, a Borzoi and a Doberman Pinscher. Over the years has shown a keen interest in helping beginners to the dog world in any capacity she can, and also in the new breeds who enter the New Zealand show world. Has been judging at Championship level for over twenty years specialising in gundogs, hounds and toys, and has helped many a promising young dog on the way to its successful new career in both New Zealand and Australia. Was also a contributor to the New Zealand Kennel Gazette for many years and served as a foundation committee member of the Taranaki Gundog Club. Never a political animal, she has eschewed an administrative career in the dog world and for the past thirteen years has been content to participate in the dog world in a judging capacity. At the moment she has a promising young Springer Spaniel complete with a tail whom she hopes to start showing in 2005.

SOMERFIELD, Ferelith 

All Breeds

Follows in the footsteps of her mother and aunts, who had been showing dogs under the Oudenarde name before she was born. Mrs. Somerfield’s first dog was a Dalmatian, but Cairn Terriers became her true love. She has bred or shown many Cairns with success, along with Irish Terriers, Boxers, a Dalmatian, and English Setters.
In 1955, she not only judged for the first time, but she also joined DOG WORLD as a trainee sub-editor. She gradually progressed in her career and was editor for many years. Today she is chairman of the company.
She began judging Cairns in 1963 and is now approved for 125 breeds in the United Kingdom. Career highlights include judging Best in Show at Crufts, 1990,  BIS at the Australian Sydney Royal, Perth Royal, and Hobart Royal shows, four Cairn specialties in America, and the World Dog Show. She is particularly proud of having been elected by breed club members to judge specialties, including the Cocker Spaniel Club’s Centenary Championship and the Old English Sheepdog Club’s Centenary Championship in the United Kingdom.
Mrs. Somerfield has authored a book on Mrs. Florence Nagle, the famed breeder of Irish Wolfhounds and Irish Setters, and has edited an encyclopaedia of dogs. For many years she was the editor of the British Dog World. Affectionately known as the 'grand dame' of Cairn Terriers.

SOTI, Mr. Eric

ANKC All Breeds

Eric is a licensed all breeds judge and has been involved in showing and breeding dogs for more than 25 years. He has judged extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Philippines. His involvement has included Standard Long Haired, Standard Smooth Haired Dachshunds, Basset Hounds and English Springer Spaniels.
For the last seventeen years Eric and partner Wolfgang Schnitzer (see at top of page) have concentrated on the breeding and exhibiting of Standard Long Haired Dachshunds under the "Keaton" prefix. They have been successful in breeding Royal Challenge winners in most States of Australia, including Runner-Up Best Hound at the Adelaide Royal Show and Best Hound and Best Puppy Hound at the Melbourne Royal Show. They have also been successful at Specialties with Best In Show winners, either bred or owned by them, including Best Exhibit In Show and Reserve In Show at five of the seven National Specialties held. 
They made history when two of their homebred champions (owner/handled) became the first of the same breed to be Supreme Best and Reserve Best at the prestigious Battle of the Champions contest - achieved with a father/son team. This winner repeated the win at the same contest the following year. 2005 saw them once again win this prestigious contest with another of their homebred champions. At this same event they have won "Dogtainers Puppy of the Year" on four occasions.

SPAGNOLO, Mr. Guy

ANKC All Breeds

Guy Spagnolo’s lifelong love affair with Labrador Retrievers began when he was just nine years of age. Since that first much-loved Lab his interest in the breed has never waned – exhibiting them from the age of 16 and breeding his first litter in 1974. The rest, as they say, is history – with his Driftway Labradors sweeping all before them. From his first homebred bitch taking out Puppy in Group and then two years later Best in Group at Sydney Royal, the Driftway dogs have accounted for multiple Royal Show honours all around Australia, including Best Exhibit in Brisbane and Runner Up Best in Show at Sydney, on more than one occasion. They have also consistently taken out the top awards at Specialty and regular All Breeds shows, both under specialist judges and all-rounders. From the mid 1970s to the late 1980s Guy has also successfully exhibited English Cocker Spaniels. He has bred more than 80 Champions over the years, exporting his dogs to the United States, Canada, the Philippines, New Zealand, South America and Japan – where many of them have collected overseas show titles and been the top winners, both in their breeds and at All Breeds level.
In 1980 Guy started judging Gundogs and by 1992 had been awarded his All Breeds licence. He has adjudicated at dog shows in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Italy, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay as well as throughout Australia. Guy has also judged junior showmanship on various occasions, including Junior Handler classes at both Sydney and Brisbane Royals.

SPANSWICK, Mrs. Anna

ANKC All Breeds

Anna's love of dogs found her exhibiting her first champion in 1960. She bred her first litter in 1962, which produced her second champion, a really lovely bitch who was responsible for putting her on the road to success, her Cambewarra prefix becoming synonymous with top winning dogs to this day. To date she has bred and owned over 100 champions in Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and Beagles.
Anna's judging career commenced in 1965, when she became licensed to judge Labradors and Golden Retrievers at championship level, after which she went on to attain her Gundog license in 1967. Because of family commitments, it was not until some time later, in fact 1977 that she decided to continue her judging career, becoming an All Breeds judge in 1985. She has judged specialty and all breed shows in the UK, Ireland, Thailand, New Zealand, and the USA. Also judging commitments continually take her throughout Australia.
Over the years she has been instrumental in the importation into Australia of Labradors, Golden Retrievers, and more recently Beagles, all from the UK. These dogs have been responsible for playing an important part in the development of their respective breeds, as seen in Australia today.
Her involvement in other aspects of canine affairs include holding office in All Breed Clubs; she has recently stepped down as the Secretary of The Labrador Retriever Club of NSW, a position she held for the past 12 years. She has held the position of Chair Person of the Judges Training Scheme Education Committee for NSW, and also sat on the JTS Administration Committee.
Anna is pleased to say that over the years, she has successfully combined breeding and showing her dogs, as well as fulfilling many judging commitments, both within and out of Australia.

SPAVIN, Marion

FCI All Breeds

Marion Spavin has been in dogs most of her life. She was a kennel maid at the age of 14 years in a Sealyham Kennel where she learned to strip and trim as well as the usual chores. Her prefix DIALYNNE is known all over the world as many of her dogs exported overseas have won groups, B.I.S. etc. The Dialynne Kennels have made up approximately 90 British Champions in Beagles, Manchester Terriers, Tibetan Terriers, Cocker Spaniels and Miniature Schnauzers – the main breed of course being Beagles.
Marion judged Beagles at her first Championship Show appointment in 1966 at Richmond Ch. Sh., and her first Group the Hound Group at Manchester Ch. Sh., in 1981. Her first BIS was in 1988 at the Scottish Ch. Sh. She has judged breeds many times at Crufts and in 1999 judged the Hound Group there.
Marion is passed to award C.C.’s in 70 breeds covering all groups, passed for 5 groups and B.I.S. She has judged extensively for many years abroad in most countries. She is now passed by the FCI to judge all Breeds, Groups and Best In Show abroad breeds that are recognised in Britain. She is President of the Humberside Hound Club, President of the Four Counties Beagle Club and Vice President of the Beagle Club.

SPECTOR, Mr. Adolfo & Mrs. Elena

Adolfo is an All Breeds judge since 1972, DVM (Vet) since 1969 and speaks Spanish and English. Elena has judged in almost the same countries, and she has been an All Breeds judge since 1986. She studied Architecture for four years, and speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish. She is the President of the Maltese Club in Argentina.
They have two kids - the boy is in marketing and the girl is a Vet, and they have a four year old granddaughter. 
Adolpho and Elena have bred many champions and BIS winners in different countries in these breeds: American Cockers, Maltese, Smooth Fox Terriers and Lhasa's. They have also owned a Neapolitan Mastiff, English Cockers, Shih Tzu's and a BIS winning Pekingese imported from the U.K.
They have judged in the UK, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, USA, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina of course.

As a child her parents exhibited German Shepherd Dogs. her first dog was a Pug which she championed. Rottweilers became part of her many years ago, she not only exhibits them but also attends obedience and has championed many in both disciplines. Both her breeds are often in the top ten. Wanda is President of an All Breeds Club and has served on a committee teaching conformation. She is active on various committees of breed clubs.

SPORRE-WILLES, Renée

A journalist by profession, Renée was first licensed to judge in 1977. Over the years her breeds have been Norwich Terriers, Lagotto Romagnolos, Pugs, & Pekingese. Fluent in English, French & German, she has judged throughout the Nordic countries, the USA and Western Europe.

STAFBERG, Mr. Carl Gunnar

FCI All Rounder

Carl is a a renowned breeder of Border Terriers since 1963, also had Airedale Terriers and has been involved in Welsh Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, Irish Terrier, Miniature Schnauzer and Poodles. Since he began judging in 1967 (first for Terriers and now for All Breeds, FCI all rounder), he has officiated at many of Europe’s most prestigious shows. 
He has judged extensively in the Nordic countries and also in Germany, Italy, England, Scotland , Ireland, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Gibraltar, Netherlands, Iceland, Lithuania and Australia. Nowadays only Border Terriers together with his wife – still active in showing and breeding. They have bred more than 100 champions over the years. 
Carl is Vice-Chairman of the Swedish Kennel Club and has been Chairman of the Swedish Terrier Club and also of one of the regional Kennel Clubs.

STALHANADSKE, Mrs. Lena

Lena was initially involved with Boxers and Labradors. She obtained her first Saluki in 1966 and breeds under Schiram prefix. She commenced judging in 1968 with Sighthounds and is currently approved by the Swedish Kennel Club to award CC/CACIB certificates to 172 FCI breeds.
Has judged Championship Shows in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland New Zealand, Australia, and the USA. Lena has been in the show committee for the Swedish Kennel Club - West Section. Past president, current Hon. Life Member of the Swedish Sighthound Club. Standard Review Committee for the Swedish Saluki Club. Trainee Judge Assessor for Swedish Kennel club for all Sighthounds.

STANTON, Mr. John F.

NZKC All Breeds

John has been judging dogs for 25 years and has judged throughout New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Philippines and Thailand. He started showing with Cockers Spaniels as a young school boy and up until about 10 years ago was actively involved in the breed. He bred many top winners in this time that were consistently top in their breed, winning both Specialty and All Breeds BIS wins. 
When John met his wife Yvonne nearly 24 years ago he became very involved in the breeding and showing of their Miniature and Standard Poodles. Their dogs have been the Top Dog All Breeds in New Zealand so many times in the last 20 years. There are "Kateisha" champions in New Zealand, Australia , Sweden, Norway, Finland, Holland, Germany, USA, Canada, Thailand and Hong Kong.

STANTON, Mr. Paul

FCI All Breeds

Paul acquired his first dog, a Shetland sheepdog in 1964. In 1968 he was introduced to Lhasa Apsos and has kept them ever since. In 1970 he acquired his first Tibetan Terrier and in 1988 Whippets came into his home. Showing is somewhat curtailed due to judging engagements, but in the past his dogs (kennel Tintavon) have had many top wins including the very first Tibetan Terrier in the world to win an all breeds BIS (Birmingham National, GB in 1974) his double grand daughter was BIS at the Stockholm Int. Show in 1979 and also Top Dog All Breeds in Sweden, Finland and Scandinavia that year. Not to be outdone 9 of his Lhasas have won all breed BIS's in 6 different countries and many more winning groups and Specialty BIS's. In 1993 he was awarded the Swedish Kennel Club's Hamilton Plaque for outstanding breeding of Lhasa Apsos. Tibetan Spaniels were kept in England with Ch's owned and bred and in Sweden, brown Miniature Poodles were kept for a short time with 2 Int. Champions made up and 2 Champions bred. They are now on their 4th generation of Whippets and they have been very successful when shown. 
He judged his first Ch. Show in England in 1973. He judged Lhasas at Crufts in 1981 and at that time was the youngest ever to have the honour to judge there. In 1977 he moved to Sweden and now judges under the Swedish Kennel Club. and F.C.I. He has judged in 47 countries on all the Continents, and was appointed FCI All Breeds judge in 1996. Paul is fluent in English and Swedish.

STAUNSKJAER, Mr. Ole

FCI All Breeds

Ole was born into a dog family. Since 1927 his parents were breeding Great Danes under the kennel name Blaaholm and they were enthusiastic exhibitors of harlequin Great Danes. Today he and his daughter Camilla are continuing the breeding of Great Danes in the Blaaholm name. Fortunately his whole family is involved in dog sports - his wife Tove has been a very successful Lhasa Apso breeder with the kennel name Palomino.  Ole started judging Great Danes in 1956 and became all-round judge in 1988. During the years he has judged in about 60 countries. He is an honorary member of the Danish Kennel Club and has been member of the general committee for 25 years. He is also honorary member of the Great Dane Club in Denmark and has been a member of the general committee of this club for 36 years. Today he is responsible for the training and education of judges in Denmark and has been a member of the FCI Judge and Show Commissions for 26 years.

Lavinia and her partner Zsolt Lokodi have been showing and breeding Airedale and Welsh Terriers for a decade. In the beginning, they both had different affixes, Zsolt was known as the breeder of "Nyaradmenti" dogs (since 1987), while Lavinia bred under the "HappyTails" name (1997). Eventually, they decided to keep breeding under one affix only, HappyTails. Their dogs have been consistently successful around the world, with Champions in many countries (Europe, USA, Australia, Canada, Russia, Estonia), many International Champions and European and World Winners. They also show and breed Dachshunds (Wire) and Mioritic.
Recently Zsolt was approved as an FCI all round judge. Lavinia is licensed to judge: Group 1 - Mioritic, Group 2 - Black Russian Terrier and all Schnauzers, Group 3 - All Breeds, Group 4 - All Breeds, Group 7 - All Breeds, Group 8 - Spaniels and Retrievers, Group 9 - Poodles, Maltese and Russian Toy. Both judge BOG and BIS level, and also handling competitions (Junior & Senior), and are founding members of the National Terrier and Dachshund Club of Romania (CNTT).  Zsolt is Vice President of the Romanian Kennel Club and President of the Romanian National Terrier and Dachshund Club, while Lavinia serves as a member in the national Discipline Committee. Zsolt is the President of the famous "Dracula Dog Show" held on the grounds of the Tg. Mures Medieval Castle in Romania, with Lavinia as one of the advisors and organisers. Lavinia is fluent in Hungarian, French and English.

STEIN, Mr. Robert

Became interested in showing in 1955, when he acquired his first Afghan Hound. A year later, after he acquired his foundation bitch, he founded his Charaj Kennels. Mr. Stein has had an excellent breeding and showing career, marked with many champions, and specialty and group winners. In 1970, he had the top-producing Afghan bitch in the nation. In addition to Afghans, Mr. Stein has also owned and bred Salukis.
Assignments have brought him to almost every state in the union, and to, among other places, Japan, Finland, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, and Israel. Career highlights include the Hound and Working groups at Westminster, the Afghan Hound Club of America specialty (three times), the Saluki Club of America national specialty, and the World Dog Show. 
Mr. Stein serves as treasurer of the Dog Judges Association of America and is an honorary member of the Dayton Kennel Club. He has served on the Afghan Hound Club of America’s board of directors, has been president, show chairman, and treasurer of the Afghan Hound Club of Southwestern Ohio, and has served the Daytona Kennel Club as president, show chairman, and AKC Delegate. A retired architect and real estate developer, he resides in Nevada with Helen, Beanie Sue (a champion Chinese Crested), and three champion Afghans.

STEINBOCK, Ms Janiki

FCI All Rounder

Born in Finland to a family in which pedigree-dog owning was a tradition, I started my career in the professional dog-world during my teens, in the field of obedience training. While still at school, I worked in the afternoons as a trainer for the Tampere Working Dogs Club and also, together with a friend, wrote the articles, took the photos and published the club’s monthly paper.
After finishing university studies, I immigrated to Israel and continued in obedience training. Together with a few other immigrants, we started modernizing the kennel-activities by founding Israel’s first breed-clubs. The first club was the Schnauzer Club in which I worked for years as treasurer. Then the Poodle Club was born and I was its secretary, treasurer and breeding adviser, followed by the Collie and Sheltie Club, in which I also was the secretary and treasurer. Several additional breed clubs were founded in our footsteps. 
Quite soon we needed a modern kennel-club and I am one of the founding members of The Israel Kennel Club which includes all the breed clubs, the local clubs and the clubs which are active in obedience, agility and rescue training of dogs. I worked for years as treasurer of the IKC and as secretary of our show committee which arranges the international shows.
In the 60’s, I took part in the first course for show judges arranged by the IKC and did my first apprenticeships in poodles, which was one of the breeds I bred under the kennel-name Carmelia. I also bred German shepherds, standard schnauzers and shelties. During the years, I added to my judging list breeds, then groups, and finally became in 1980 an all-round judge and am since then certified by the FCI to award CAC’s and CACIB’s in all the breeds recognized by this organization.
I have judged at most of the Israeli international shows, and for most of our breed clubs at their breed and group shows. I have judged at national and international shows in Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway and Denmark), Finland, Europe (The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, San Marino, Slovenia, Croatia, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus, Russia), the Far-East (India, Thailand and The Philippines), South Africa, Australia and Brazil and have been invited to most of these countries several times. In addition to judging, I also serve as vice-president of the Judges Committee of the Israel Kennel Club.

Began with Chihuahuas in late 1970s, and began showing Cavaliers in 1978, Min Pins 1978 and Japanese Chins in 1979, Australian Terriers in 1984, Schipperkes in 1986, English Toy Terriers in 1990, followed by one Shiba Inu and one Harrier. Has bred and shown over 100 Champions, exported overseas, and imported dogs as well. Currently only showing Chihuahuas both coats. Betty judged the Chihuahua National and the Chihuahua Club of Texas, USA in 2005. 

STOFFERS, Mrs. Isabell

AKC Hounds, Toys, Non-Sporting, Doberman Pinschers, and Manchester Terriers

Mrs. Stoffers has owned animals all her life. Her parents had Spaniels and she had her own Pomeranian as a child. Her first show dog was a Doberman Pinscher and in 1964 she got her first Sighthound, a Whippet. The Whippet was followed by a Greyhound and both these breeds produced home bred BIS dogs. She also raced and Lure Coursed her Whippets and held titles in both. She has bred and shown Arabian Horses. She started judging in 1970 and is licensed to judge Hounds, Toys, Non-Sporting, Doberman Pinschers, and Manchester Terriers.

STRACHAN, Mr. David A.

David's career in dogs began in 1970 when he acquired his first Boxer. As he had asked for a show quality Boxer the breeder insisted he take him to at least one show. He won his class and they had their first "blue" ribbon. This was to influence the direction of his life for the next 38 years. David began judging in 1987 and is now an International All Breeds judge.
He has had the privilege of judging in the following countries – England, Ireland, Canada, the USA, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Denmark, India, South Africa, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Russia, Japan and the Philippines.
David has met with some success as a breeder and exhibitor of Boxers and Boston Terriers. Having bred or owned over 100 champions and these dogs have won over 150 Best Exhibit in Show awards. In mentioning their dogs he would like to honour 2 Boxers in particular – Grand Champion Thasrite Prince Charming SOM winner of 27 BIS Championship Show awards. He was also NSW CC Show Dog of the Year in 1993 and Best Exhibit in Show at the Canberra Royal Show in 1992 and the Nation’s #1 Boxer 1992/93/94. Grand Champion Thasrite Topless Bikini (AI) won BIS at All-Breed Championship Shows on 26 occasions and was #1 Boxer in Australia for 1998 and 1999 and among the top show dogs all breeds during those years. Some more Best in Show winning homebreds – namely, BIS Grand Ch Thasrite Melodrama (15 BIS) and BIS/BISS Aust Grand Ch/RSA Ch Thasrite The New Yorker SOM (BOB/Group 2 Sydney Royal 2003) a winner of some 20 BIS awards (in Aust and RSA) and Australia’s #1 Boxer 2003/04. Also, successfully campaigned in Queensland in partnership the multi BIS winner BIS Grand Ch Thasrite Angel’s Brat.
David has also been involved for many years in dog show administration. Having been involved as show manager, club secretary and until recently all breeds dog club president for over 10 years. He has also been involved in judges training and examination.

SUDARSAN,  Mr. C. V .  

FCI All Breeds

Hailing from a family of dog lovers Mr. Sudarsan is the founding Secretary of the Madras Kennel Club and continues to hold this position, after 27 years. He entered Canine activity almost three decades ago and commenced his show career by exhibiting Spitz and then seriously went on to breeding and exhibiting Pugs. Since then he has bred and owned Lhasa Apsos, Beagles, Boxers, GSDs, Dobermann's, Dachshunds, Fox Terriers and Bulldogs.  Dogs owned and or bred by Mr Sudarasan have been awarded Dog of the Year, on several occasions. He is currently committed to breeding and exhibiting Dobermann, Pugs and Dachshunds. Mr Sudarasan has been an All Breeds judge since 1984 and is currently a Member of the Managing Committee of the Kennel Club of India, is the Vice President of the G.S.D Club of India, is on the Board of Directors of the Asian Kennel Union and is on the panel of the Asian Kennel Union and FCI Judges. In his spare time, he is an active Rotarian and the President of the Rotary Club of Anna Nagar. He is the top All Breeds judge in India, and is on the executive of the Indian Kennel Club. 

SUNDE, Mrs. Marit    

FCI All Breeds

Breeder of Boxers since 1960.  Started breeding Bullmastiffs in 1969, as one of the pioneers of the breed in Norway. Became well known and respected for breeding these in Norway as well as abroad. Changed from Bullmastiffs to Boston Terriers in 1980, and is now breeding Boxers and Boston Terriers only. Multiple International Champions with exports all over the world. Took BOB at Crufts in 2002. FCI judge since 1971. Today is authorized as an All Breeds judge and is much used in Europe, Ireland, UK, Russia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Israel, US, Canada, Brazil, Peru, Australia, and New Zealand. Has had many roles in different canine organizations since 1964, and also an honorary member of various dog clubs. 

SUPPAN, Mr. Helmut

FCI All Breeds

His professional involvement with Forestry introduced him very early to the sport of hunting and the dogs used in it. He involved himself in breeding some outstanding specimens and that lead to his leadership role for the German Sporting & Hunting dogs.  He started his education on other breeds and has been all breed judge for over 25 years. Has judged important shows all over Europe on National & International level. 

SUTHERLAND, Mrs. Sue

ANKC All Breeds

Sue was very fortunate to grow up in a family in Ireland who excelled in breeding thoroughbred horses and cattle. They were involved in a pack of Foxhounds and Beagles, as well as Bulldogs, Chow Chows, Elkhounds, Whippets, Pointers, Cocker Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Curly Coated Retrievers, Norfolk Terriers and a countless number of Jack Russell Terriers.
In 1956 Pugs were registered in her name under the prefix " BARONRATH", the name of the stud on which Sue grew up . This prefix has been registered in Ireland, the United Kingdom, America, New Zealand and Australia. In her early teens, Sue started grading cattle with her later father as well as showing Aylesbury Ducks with some success. She eventually went on to judge ponies and hunters. In 1965 she had her first dog show judging assignment in the USA, where she still holds the record for a "Best In Show" black Pug bitch.
By 1971 Boston Terriers became her chosen breed in Australia and she has had the honour of winning "Best In Show" at the New Zealand Boston Terrier Specialty and also won “Runner-Up In Show” two years later. She is happy to report that this small kennel still has winners in the ring, including her beloved Whippets who have also won Specialty Shows.
Sue is a licensed All-Breeds judge, having had appointments in the USA, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Thailand , Philippines, South Africa, Hong Kong and throughout Australia.
