Web Site

Ph: (613) 931-1788    Email: Click here

Michael and his wife Patricia (see below) have been breeding Labrador Retrievers under the Ebonylane prefix since 1974. Their kennel name became permanently registered with the Canadian Kennel Club in 1979. Dogs bearing the Ebonylane prefix can be found in virtually every corner of the world.
They are very proud to have been named "Pedigree Pal Breeders of the Year" in 1991. Their Motto has always been to breed dogs with type, temperament and trainability. To this end they have produced over 100 champions, many of which are in hunting homes and top ranking in obedience trial competition. There are many Ebonylane seeing-eye dogs, dogs that are used in drug detection, as well as search and rescue. First and foremost they would like to believe that all our Ebonylane dogs are valued family companions.
In 1984 their breeding ranked Top in Breed competition in both Canada and the United States - Am. Can. Ch. Ebonylane's Buccaneer Gold in Canada and Am. Can. Ch. Ebonylane's Yellow Poplar in the USA. The dogs were both out of Am. Can. Ch. Ebonylane's Cotton Candy. Their sires were litter brothers - Am. Can. Ch Ebonylane's Aslan (top champion producing sire of all time) and multiple Best in Specialty winner Am. Can. Ch. Ebonylane's Midnite Bandit.
They have been members of the Canadian Kennel Club since 1974 and have recently been honoured with Life Membership. Mike is a member of the Canadian Kennel Club Event Officiating Committee. They are founding members of the Labrador Retriever Club of Canada and the Atlantic Labrador Retriever Club, and both are Life Members of the Labrador Owners Club, Honorary Life Time Members of the Chateauguay Valley Kennel Club and the Hochelaga Kennel Club as well as active members of the Halifax Kennel Club, The Canadian Dog Judges Association and the American Dog Show Judges Association. Both are approved to judge at Championship shows by the Canadian Kennel in 1994 and have judged in Canada, the United States, Holland and Australia.
In their other lives, Pat is a retired Paramedic. Mike is a retired CN Railroad Field Manager of Claim Services for the Atlantic Provinces and has recently retired again from owning and operating his own personal computer business. Over the years they have been very fortunate to enrich their lives with their dogs and the people they have met through them.

LeBLANC, Mrs. Kim

Ontario, CANADA

Kennel Name: Snowmist

CKC All Breeds

Web Site

Ph:  (705) 835-5912    Email: Click here

Kim purchased her first dog, a Siberian Husky male in 1973. He, fortunately for them, was of good enough quality to become their first champion and sire their first litter. That was the beginning of Snowmist Siberians. Kim and her mum had a short-lived trial with Alaskan Malamutes and decided they were not for them. But the adventure with other breeds continued and they enjoyed a Newfoundland and a few Salukis. During this time Kim handled many different breeds. In 1980 her husband brought American Foxhounds into the picture, they still have them today along with the Siberians.
Kim is still actively showing and breeding on a small scale. Their kennel (Snowmist Siberians) has been highly successful in Canada and around the world. She and her husband competed in sled dog races winning their fair share of awards up until the fall of 1996 when family and business commitments forced them to retire. While racing, they actively participated in the Sled Dog Certificate Program earning over 40 titles. Their dogs have numbered in the top for their breed on many occasions including Top Siberian 1986 & 1987 with BIS, BISS Am/Can Ch. Snowmist’s Mai Tai, Top Siberian 1994 BIS Ch. Kakoma’s Better Than Average and recently top again in 2001 with BIS Ch. Snowmist’s Eternal Flame. In 1993 and 1994 the Siberian Husky Club of Canada awarded their lead dog Northstar’s Snowmist Birch C.D., S.D.U. the Ward Young Trophy for successfully competing in sled dog racing, showing and obedience within one club year. This was the first time any dog had won this award in back to back years.
Kim is a graduate of the canine course "Dogs, A Hobby or Profession" created by Casey Gardiner. Included in this educational program was a course on structure that taught structure based on a measuring process. She has used this process to improve her own knowledge, to help others understand what they see and to evaluate litters of puppies and grown dogs. She has conducted all breed measuring clinics as well as seminars on this topic.
Today Kim is a licensed All Breed Canadian Kennel Club judge in Canada. She began her judging career officially in 1994. Since that time she has had the honour of judging in her own country (Canada), Belgium, France, Finland, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Spain and the United States of America. LEES, Ms Jeanette V.

 Victoria, AUSTRALIA

Kennel Name: Zivv

ANKC Gundog, Hound, Non-Sporting, & Terrier Groups

Ph: +61-(0)3 5281 3230     Email: Click here

Born into a 'doggy' family that bred and exhibited Great Danes and bred, trained and raced greyhounds, Jeanette was destined to continue the family tradition of involvement in canine activities. Borzois were her first breed, a love that has endured to the present. A few years later Jeanette added Afghan Hounds to her kennel at a time when the breed was at its greatest numerical and competitive strength around the world. Show ring and breeding success in both breeds resulted in many champions and Best in Show wins.
In the mid-1970’s American Cocker Spaniels, new to Australia, became a fascination for Jeanette. Her first was bred in Victoria from two U.K. imports. After extensive research Jeanette imported Australia’s first American champion. (Also the breed’s first USA import) By late 1976 two more imports, browns, had arrived to establish a breeding program that has produced more than 50 champions. More than 30 years involvement with Gundogs has included not just American cockers but also Irish Setters and G.S.P.’s.
Breed Specialisation: Afghan Hound, American Cocker Spaniels, Borzoi, Cocker Spaniel (American), Cocker Spaniel (English), Great Dane, Gundogs, Hounds, Irish Setter, Poodle (Miniature), Poodle (Standard), Poodle (Toy), Saluki, Setter and Spaniels, Sighthounds

Victoria, AUSTRALIA

Kennel Name: Rama

ANKC All Breeds

Ph: + 61-(0)408-502- 389     Email: Click here

Originally starting as an obedience trial exhibitor, and interested in field work for gundogs, Peter has had English and Irish Setters, Curly Coated Retrievers, the first G.S.P. bitch ever born in Australia, and extensive breeding and showing of Pointers, breeding BIS winners and exporting to the famous Arista kennel of N.Z. Dobermann's were bred & imported from U.K., USA, Germany and Holland, and exported back to Europe, giving up the breed when the docking fiasco took its toll. Great Danes was another breed which they kept and won BIS with. They won BIS at the original Schnauzer Club of Vic. with Mini Ch. Rathmines Bruno. As a breeder and exhibitor/judge of Hackney Ponies, they naturally bred Miniature Pinschers. In the Hound Group he has had only one Fox Hound. In Whippets they had the BIS winner of the Launceston Royal, plus many other BIS awards. In working dogs he has had German Shepherds, and a Bouvier de Flanders (Imp USA). Currently showing a Collie Rough. Over the last 47 years he has developed a respected Terrier kennel in Fox Terriers (Smooth and Wire), Kerry Blues, and Irish. Has bred Lakeland (BIS Brisbane Royal), Welsh, Sealyham, Scottish and Airedale have all been taken to major awards under specialists. Peter's chief reason for having owned many different breeds is that he is a great believer in hands on experience. This quest has rewarded him by many appointments around the world. He was the first Australian judge to judge Smooths in the 130 year history of the mother Club, in England.
