KADIKE-SKADINA Rita

Riga, LATVIA

FCI All Breeds

Ph: +371 7577373    Email: Click here

All her life, as she remembers herself, Rita has had dogs and they are one of the most important and wonderful part of her life. Sometimes she loves and understand dogs more than people. Dogs are the most beautiful present, what God has given us.  Her “official Dog history” began in 1982, when she bought her first pedigreed dog, an English Cocker Spaniel – one of the first in Latvia.  She has been President of the Latvian Spaniel Club since 1984 and leader of breeding. Since 1995 a Member of Judges Committee; and General Secretary of Latvian Cynology Federation 1996–2006.
Rita has been judging since 1987 and her first breeds were English and American Cockers. She became an all breeds judge in January 2006. She loves all of them, but her favourite breed is her first and great love – English cockers.
In 1998 she wrote a book about English and American Cockers using her photos. She has many publications with her photos in different magazines and newspapers about dog breeds and other animals. In November 2006 during an International dog show in Riga all exhibitors and visitors viewed her exhibition of more than 130 photos of dogs, cats and other animals from many countries.
Over the past 25 years she has had Cockers in different colours. Boss, David and Oscar were her last dogs. Her chocolate "Oscar" (from Lecibsin Mathias, 01.1992-12.2004) was the first chocolate Cocker in Latvia, her black/white "David" from Finland (Breeze Villy Wagtail, 10.1991.-12.2005.) was the first black/white cocker in Latvia and first Latvian champion. Her golden "Boss", Mc.Gregory Jolian Principple Boy from Germany (09.1990.—02.2006.) was beautiful with a noble personality and an excellent producer.
Her life style does not allow her to have a small puppy. Too often she travels around the world. Sadly, she is no longer a breeder or owner. Instead she enjoys all the dogs through judging. It is her only consolation and great happiness. Rita has judged International, National, group and breed shows in Latvia, Australia (Sydney, Perth), Belarus, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine. Every year she judges several thousands of dogs in different countries. In 2006 she judged almost 4000 dogs, Group and "Best in Show" competitions in different countries of Europe and Australia. Everywhere in the world she is happy to find beautiful dogs and to meet interesting judges and wonderful, dog-crazy people, who very often become her good friends.  Rita is fluent in Russian and English.

Kennel Name: Anatina

FCI All rounder

Web Site

+386 (0) 4 5154 321    Email: Click here

Some 40 years of living with dogs for somebody in her mid fifties might most probably be called a rather long doggy career. Marija started with Rough Collies in 1967, did some breeding and became actively involved in the co-ordination of breeding activities in Slovenia, and consultation assistance to the Slovenian breeders of numerous breeds, involving planning of the breeding combinations in many breeds.
In 1976 she got married and has two daughters - Ana and Martina (Tina). Out of their daughters' names Blaz and Marija composed the name of their kennel - ANATINA. They have used this name for 30 years, before that they were using a different prefix. In those early years in former Yugoslavia it was not very common for women to be dog judges, and Marija was the first woman to become a judge in Slovenia in early 70's - and is the only female All-round judge in Slovenia. To date she has judged in over 40 countries around the world, and believe that judges should keep in touch with breeding and showing.
As a breeder, she started with Rough Collies and has, together with her husband Blaž, built a consistent line. Their Collie breeding was very limited in numbers, but they have managed to breed some champions. About 20 years ago they added Samoyeds. This is the breed where they have done most of their breeding, showing and winning. As a dog judge Marija believes in emphasis on the type and good points of each dog and only then taking into consideration the weaker points.  Marija is fluent in English.

ANKC Hound, Non-Sporting, Toy, & Utility Groups

Web Site

Ph: +61-(0)2 6634 1358   Email: Click here

Mary got her first Italian Greyhound in the mid 70's and Adrian had a Saluki not long after. It wasn't long before they had several of both breeds, taking the large and the small to shows, but always concentrating on the IGs on the breeding side. At the moment, they have two Salukis along with the IGs. Mary was involved in the writing of the ANKC Extended Standard for the Saluki, and an article 'A Comparison of Standards of the Italian Greyhound' was published in the NSW Canine Journal in 1983 and is used extensively throughout Australia as a teaching aid.  Over the years they have also owned and exhibited the occasional Afghan Hound, Greyhound, Whippet, Foxhound, Shetland Sheepdog, Skye Terrier, Pomeranian & Australian Silky Terrier, but none have been able to displace the IGs from their place in their hearts.  To decrease the likelihood of genetic disease, Mary has imported IGs from Finland and the USA. She also had Lhasa Apsos for some 20 years, once again, not breeding but selecting from experienced breeders, preferring to put her effort into attempting to leave the IG gene-pool cleaner than when she began. Mary has served on many committees

Mr. Kereluke started in the sport of pure-bred dogs with the purchase of an Afghan in 1967. He began to attend shows and soon was "hooked". Back in those days, many of the shows were benched. This proved to be a great learning experience. As many others before him Mr. Kereluke followed the natural progression and soon acquired an Afghan female to breed. Her only litter produced 9 Champions and began the Timang Afghans. From there he began his breeding program. He bred his last litter in 1985 and has had well over 35 Champions to his credit. While attending shows with his Afghans, he also handled dogs for clients. He was very fortunate to have had some very good dogs to show along the way. Most of these dogs were in the Hound group and included Salukis, Irish Wolfhounds and Borzoi. He has exhibited both in Canada and the United States for many years winning Best in Shows in both countries.
In 1985 he joined the ranks for judging, and is now approved to judge all breeds in Canada and the world. He has judged in many countries including Sweden, Denmark, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines and the United States. He is involved with several clubs and associations.
He has served on several committees for the Canadian Kennel Club, including the internal Discipline Committee. He was on the Education Committee for the Canadian Dog Judges Association, President of the Northwinds Dog Club and an active member of the Manitoba Gazehound Association.
